Characteristics of A Good University Student

Student is the most important aspect in education system. According to Mariam-webster,

Student is a person who attends or studies something in a school, college, or university. From
the definition about student from Mariam-webster, we can conclude that student is not just an
object of the education system, but also as a subject of education who are doing an activity and
determining the success of the education itself. In University, students always have an important
role in the success of the education institute, moreover a good student. They take an important
role for the progression, achievement, performance and prestige for the university. A good
university student does not only deal with having good scores, but also deals with some
characteristics that become the indicators. To be classified as a good student, a university student
should be diligent, well-prepared, responsible, curious, and honest.
The first characteristic of a good university student is diligent. The word "diligent" has a
meaning as a constant in effort to accomplish something, attentive, and persistent in doing
anything. The definition of diligent clearly explains that a good university student should have
this attitude. Submitting task that is given by the lecturer on time is one of many things that can
be classified as a diligent attitude. This attitude will make students be consistent in their life.
Furthermore, it drills a student to be a discipline.
Second is well-prepared. A good university student will prepare everything well. "Wellprepared" is not just in learning process but also for every aspect in their life. Preparing well also
means that preparing everything that might happen in the future, and preparing for the worst
occurrence. When everything is well-prepared, students will not get worry about what they will
face.
The next is responsible. "Responsible" is an adjective word which has a meaning as
having a capacity for moral decisions. Having this attitude is a must for every student in the
world. Being responsible is not just because they are students. Their responsibility is also to other
people. It is because we live together with others as social beings.

Fourth is curious. The word curious can be defined as an eager to learn or know. This
characteristic can be seen as the measurement of the quality of a student in the university. A good
university student has to be curious in everything, furthermore scientific and academic. We know
that curiosity is the key of the invention of the scientists to create their findings. Therefore, this
attitude is needed to be grown.
The last characteristic is honest. The meaning of the word honest is an honorable in
principles, intensions, and actions. This is the most important attitude that has to be owned. All
of the attitudes that have been mentioned before will be useless without honesty. A human being
places honesty as the first point in their life. This attitude is also the one which controls the other
attitudes. That is why; honest is very important to be added as one of the characteristics of a good
university student.
In conclusion, being a good university student is not only about having good scores, but
also about something elses. To be classified as a good university student, there are some
characteristics that must be owned which are diligent, well-prepared, responsible, curious, and
honest.
