that will go on as we explore these topics together. The following information will help you and your child understand what is
required for success in this class. Your involvement in your childs education is essential. Please help me give your
child the opportunity to fully succeed. If you would like to meet with me, or if you would like to help in the classroom in any
way, please feel free to call me at school and leave a message telling how and when you can best be reached.
Please review all of this information with your child and sign your name on the reverse side. Thank you!

Course Description:
IB Math Studies/Algebra 2 caters for students with varied backgrounds and abilities. More specifically, it is designed to build
confidence and encourage an appreciation of mathematics in students who do not anticipate a need for mathematics in their
future studies. Students taking this course need to be already equipped with fundamental skills and a rudimentary knowledge
of basic processes. The general DoDEA 9-12 Mathematics Standards may be found at
http://www.dodea.edu/instruction/curriculum/New%20Standards/Math/PDF/Gr9-12_Math_Stand.pdf
DoDEA Mathematics Standards 2abcd will be used in most lessons in this course. Additional standards are noted below for
