This procedure is developed in order to achieve the instalation program with proper handling and to
eliminated a problem occurred during preinstallation, assembly and installation of various activities
against client specification, standard and codes i.e civil, structural, piping, mechanical etc

5. INSTALATION
Non Woven Geotextile installation includes four basic steps to do:
5.1 Preparation of the Subgrade
Clean locations from sharp objects. When necessary replace material subgrade with better material
soil and compacted with adequate compactor machine.
5.2 Laying and Splicing of Geotextile
Generally, the geotextile should be laid crosswise. Geotextile should be laid out on land which lay
without waves or wrinkles. In the large field installation of geotextile can be flexible (transverse or
longitudinal) Because low weight and size is not too large, the spreading of non woven geotextile
can be carried out with human labor. Location that is difficult to do the cutting and splicing, to
facilitate geotextile can be cut into pieces and spliced / stitched in place in advance where possible.
Splicing geotextile with one another can be done by passing each other (overlap) or by stitching
(Sewn).

With this method of overlap, the minimum distance is 30 cm - 100 cm depending on the condition
of subgrade (see table A)and geotextile panel tailoring implementation techniques can be done in
the field using portable sewing machine, using generator power. Suturing in the field usually
requires three to four workers. Geotextiles are not in sewing can be prepared in the barn
(workshop) in a wide range of length and width required. The withdrawal on geotextile to prevent
the geotextile is not curled when backfill, and then do the anchoring with using steel bar or
fastening. The distance from the anchorage adjusted field conditions.
5.3 Aggregate Distribution and Placement
Once finished geotextile jointing and neat, then we can spread and put the aggregate that we
choose to be placed on a geotextile. Aggregate placement is done by pushing forward the
aggregate backfill, so that a layer of geotextile is not directly run over by the wheels of trucks
transporting aggregate and heavy equipment that we use for leveling because it can damage the
geotextile layer. Aggregate thickness adjusted to planning. Then leveled the aggregate material,
can use heavy equipment, dozers, etc.. When a thin layer of aggregate, heavy equipment should
not ply on it, worry can damage the geotextile layer. Geotextile is placed in the bend in the road
must line curve. Do not create overlapping or stitches in the region in line with the wheel load
(traffic load).
5.4 Aggregate compaction
Having leveled the aggregate, the aggregate is compacted, use compactor or vibrator roller.
