operate reliably and efficiently on natural gas. ECI systems range from basic gas fumigation with
minimized engine modifications to optimized direct low pressure gas injection with revised after
cooling and modified pistons. ECI considers individual customer requirements to determine if
their application is better suited for just a standard system or if custom options should be applied.

EMD Dual Fuel


ECI 645E-DF Dual fuel conversion system for the
General Motors EMD 645 turbocharged series diesel
engines
Our cleanest and most efficient system, the ECI 645DF conversion
has all the necessary equipment for retrofitting a standard EMD 645
diesel to run on natural gas. The system uses 90% gas, with 10%
diesel fuel for ignition, with nearly 70% reduction in NOx emissions
over a locomotive duty cycle. Power generators will see even greater
fuel replacement and emissions reductions. Maintains versatility of
running on diesel fuel alone.
Kit includes: Specially designed pistons and heads, ECI patented

The blower style version of the ECI 645DF conversion, this system
retrofits a standard 645 blower style diesel to run on natural gas,
while retaining the ability to run on diesel fuel alone.

fuel control, gas plumbing, LEI bank idling system, Installation and

ECI 645SIP - Dedicated natural gas conversion
system for the General Motors EMD 645 series diesel
engines
This retrofit system allows any standard EMD645 to run on 100%
natural gas. Ideal for locomotive switch engines and other
applications with typically long periods of idling or any application
where diesel backup in truely not necessary.. System includes:
Specially designed pistons and heads, ECI spark pre chambers,
electronic control and monitoring system, gas plumbing, Installation
and Maintenance documentation. Available in 8, 12, 16 &20 cylinder

Cat Dual Fuel


ECI 399DF - Caterpillar 399 dual fuel conversion
system
This kit is a relatively low cost way to get your existing CAT 399, 389,
or 378 running on dual fuel. Taking advantage of inexpensive natural ECI's dual fuel converted
gas as a primary fuel, you will also retain the ability to run your engine
Caterpillar 399 system
on full diesel without losing horsepower. Current replacement rate of
diesel-to-gas is approximately 80% of the diesel fuel used in a
standard 399. Kit includes: Modified pistons, electronic control
system, gas delivery system, additional diesel delivery components, 80% diesel replacement
air controls, gas plumbing and necessary operational documentation.

Low Emission Idle (LEI) - Bank idling system for GMEMD and GE-FDL engines
LEI is a linkage system which mounts to an existing EMD or GE-FDL
engine that allows the engine to operate on one bank at a time. This
substantially reduces excessive smoke that can occur during low load
conditions. A low cost way of improving visible emissions around the
switch yard, port, or high traffic locations. (For more information see

Electronic Engine Control systemsEnergy Conversions' patented electronic controls are an essential
component to all of ECI's conversions systems. Now you can employ
ECI's technology to monitor and adjust your engines vital operations.
Perform such tasks as electronic valve sequencing, pressure and
temperature monitoring, emissions analysis, air balance, data
acquisition and fault history, as well as special tasks such as skip
cylinder firing. Proprietary software allows the operator to view and
adjust functions through an easy to use on site interface or remote
laptop computer. ECI will customize your electronic system to fit your
