Help me Jesus

A prayer book

Dedicated to Msgr. Samuel Bianco for his

Christ-like love of the disadvantaged

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven

Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace.

Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Glory Be Prayer

Glory be to the Father,

And to the Son,
And to the Holy Spirit,
Now and forever,
Amen.

Can prayer make my life better?

Yes. If you form a loving friendship with Jesus, you
will be able to handle whatever life throws at you.
You are never alone when Jesus is in your life.
Jesus is with you and He cares. Your life will be so
much better.
When problems overwhelm you, simply pray,
"Jesus help me."
Prayer gives you a new power... the power of Jesus
Christ. His Power makes it possible for you to get
through your problems.
Prayer heals your hurt. It makes forgiveness
possible.
When you pray, God wants you to come as
you are.
You dont have to wait until you are less sinful or
have enough faith.
Prayers sometimes start out of desperation or
a crisis in your life.
You might not be sure Jesus is listening. But
He does hear your prayers.
You can start to pray right now. God is
waiting for you.

Spend Quiet Time with Jesus

To have Jesus in your life, set aside time each day.
Pray for a few minutes but try for 20.
Find a quiet place where you can tell Jesus your
problems, seek His guidance and listen to His
voice.
If you miss a day, start again the very next day.
Soon you will experience:

a sense of peace.
a power over things that pull you down.
a joy in your heart.

Talk to God
Some people use their own thoughts and words.
Others use prayer books.
You can talk to Jesus whenever you want at
home, on the street, or wherever you are.
Your prayers dont have to be said all at once. They
can be at different times and places.

Prayer for Help

Jesus, I really need your help.
I know You promised to help all who come to You.
So I know that You will help me.

When you are struggling:

Bring all your troubles to Jesus. Ask for His
help and then trust Him to answer your prayers.
Talk to Jesus any time and any place. Jesus
loves you and in times of trouble He is especially
close.
Faith in Jesus drives out fear. If Christ is for
you, who is against you?
Try to live in the present. Leave the past to
God's Mercy and Love.

Prayer for those who are lonely

Jesus, I am lonely,
I long for the closeness of another person,
But no one is here.
Jesus, you alone understand my emptiness.
Please stay with me and never leave me.

Prayer of a person searching for Jesus

Jesus, whoever you are, wherever you are, come
into my heart and reveal yourself to me. And if you
do, I will serve you with your help.

Jesus loves you. He knows

all about you... even your
hidden thoughts and
deepest fears. He knows
about your weaknesses
and your failures. And He
still loves you.

"How can you be so sure, when you don't know me

and the things that have happened in my life?"
Jesus the Healer knows. He accepts you as you
are, but He wants you to try to make the needed
changes in your life.
To feel His love for you, repeat, "Jesus loves
me."
If you think that you are no good, then look at a
picture of Jesus nailed to the Cross.
You can see how much Jesus loves you and how
important you are to Him.
You can be sure of Christ's great love for you...
even if you are not the person you could have
been, or if bad things have happened to you.
To have a better life prayer can make it happen.

Morning Prayer
Good morning Dear Lord. May everything I say and
do this day please You.
Jesus I love You and I thank You for dying on the
cross for me.
Please be my strength, for You know my weakness.
Amen

Thanks before Meals (Grace)

Bless us Lord and make us truly thankful for the
food that we are about to eat.
May we be always mindful of those who are in
need. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen

Evening Prayer
My Lord, my Savior, my Friend, I thank You for
helping me this day.
I am sorry for the many times that I did not follow
Your commandments.
As I lay my body down to rest, I pray that
tomorrow I can better love and serve You. Amen

The Jesus Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have
mercy on me, a sinner. Amen

Jesus help me is a cry from your heart.

You know He is the only one who can help you.
"Jesus help me. My life is difficult."
Do you have family, job or money worries? Have
people hurt you? Do you have health problems?
Answer: Take all your problems to Jesus. Trust
Him to help you. And Jesus will be there for you.
"Jesus help me. My life is a mess."
Maybe an addiction is controlling your life. You may
feel like a failure and want to give up trying.
Answer: Ask Jesus to help you with your
addiction. Pray the Serenity Prayer. Jesus will
answer your cry for help.
"Jesus help me. I am such a failure."
My life is a long list of failures: bad decisions,
missed opportunities and wasted years. Things
should have been so different, but there is no going
back.
Answer: Dont let the past pull you down. You still
have time to help others and find happiness.
"Jesus help me. I have sinned."
Many times, I did not keep your commandments.
Part of me says, "Ask Him to forgive your sins."
Another part says, "Your sins are too many."

Answer: Listen to the part that tells you to go to

Jesus. It isn't too late. He has not given up on you.
His Mercy is far greater than your sins.
"Jesus help me. I can't go on."
Nobody cares what happens to me. I struggle to
survive but my life doesn't get better. I can't go
on...
Answer: When you feel helpless, think of Jesus.
Carrying his cross, he was in great pain. Most of his
friends had deserted him. People were shouting,
"Crucify him." He felt He couldn't go on.
Our Lord suffered, and in every life there will be
suffering. Ask Jesus for the strength to carry your
cross, and He will help you.
The Lord always watches over you.
Jesus is your strength, so turn to Him when things
look darkest.
To Jesus, your life is an open book. He sees what
troubles you. He understands what you are going
through.
Many times we try to handle our problems all by
ourselves... and it doesn't work.

Jesus said, "Come to me all you who are

heavily burdened and I will give you rest."

Prayers for Gods Creatures

Dear Jesus, teach me to be kind and gentle
towards all animals.
May l always take care of and provide for my
animal companions and never ill-treat any living
creature that You have placed upon this earth.
Amen.

Here is a prayer for animals

written by Albert Schweitzer:
Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the
animals,
especially for animals who are suffering;
for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or
frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put to sleep.

Prayers of Saint Francis

Lord,
make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Blessing
May the Lord bless you
and keep you;
may the Lord show his face to you
and have compassion on you!
May he turn his face to you
and give you peace!

Prayer to Our Redeemer

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Blood of Christ, heal me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O Good Jesus, hear me.
Within Your wounds, hide me.
From the enemy, defend me.
Suffer me not to be separated from You.
At the hour of my death call me.
And bid me come to You.
That with Your saints I may praise You
Forever and Ever. (Saint Ignatius)

Come Holy Spirit

Source of all wisdom and knowledge,
Guide me by Your Light,
Teach me what I should say and do,
Fill my heart with Your Love
so I may reflect Your Love
to everyone I meet. Amen

Prayer of Those Living Alone

Heavenly Father in all my daily needs,
protect and guide me.
Spare me from fire and flood, from thieves,
and from harm in any form.
When I am feeling low, lift up my heart.
I live alone dear Lord,
yet because I know your presence is ever near,
I will have no fear.

Prayer of a Separated or Divorced Person

Father, I belong to you.
I place myself anew in your hands and
acknowledge you as Master and Lord of my life.
Grant me the gift of a forgiving heart and cleanse
me of any anger, hostility or revenge.
Heal my hurts and wounds and teach me to rely on
your love.
Grant me wisdom of heart and strengthen me by
your grace to move on in faith, in trust and in love.
Thank you Lord for your love in my life. Amen.

Prayer for Employment

Jesus, you gave us the Lord's Prayer.
You told us to include the words, "give us this day
our daily bread."
Lord, I desperately need to find a job,
so that I can pay my bills and put food on the
table.
So far the people that I have contacted
and the resumes that I have sent
have not led to a full-time job.
Now I turn to you and ask for your help.
Jesus I know you will hear and answer my prayers.
I will continue to look for work and to trust in your
loving care.

Prayer to my Guardian Angel

Angel sent by God to guide me,
Be my light and walk beside me;
Be my guardian and protect me,
On the paths of life direct me.

Prayer to Saint Christopher

Dear Saint Christopher,
protect me today
in all my travels
along the road's way.
Give your warning sign
if danger is near
so that I may stop
while the path is clear.
Be at my window
and direct me through
when the vision blurs
from out of the blue.
Carry me safely
to my destined place,
like you carried Christ
in your close embrace.
Amen.

Prayer to Saint Anthony

Dear Saint Anthony, you are the patron of the poor
and the helper of all who seek lost articles.
Help me to find the object I have lost so that I will
be able to make better use of the time I will gain
for God's honor and glory.
Grant your gracious aid to all people who seek
what they have lost. Amen.

The Divine Praises

Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man.
Blessed be the name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be His Most Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament
of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most
holy.
Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be Saint Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His angels and in His Saints.

Prayer of Divine Mercy

Using a rosary,
Make the Sign of the Cross.
Say the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the
Apostle's Creed.
Say the Our Father on the single bead at the
start of each group of ten beads. Then say:
Eternal Father,
I offer you the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son,
Our Lord, Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins
and those of the whole world.
On each of the next ten beads, say:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Repeat these prayers for the remaining groups of
beads.
End by saying this prayer 3 times:
Holy God,
Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us
and on the whole world.
Finish with the Sign of the Cross.

In time of personal illness

O Jesus, you suffered and died for us;
you understand our suffering.
Teach me to embrace my suffering.
Calm my fears; increase my trust.
If it is your will, restore me to health
so that I may continue to praise you.

Help me Jesus... I am sick and afraid of

dying
Lord, I know that there is a time to be born and a
time to die.
I also believe that my own death can't be far away.
All that I ask is that You are with me in my final
moments.
Jesus I trust in your love and mercy to bring me
safely to your home.

Prayers for the Dead

O loving God . . . I pray you to welcome my
deceased family, friends, loved ones into heaven.
Forgive them their sins and reward them for their
goodness.
Grant that I may be with them again in your loving
presence. Amen.

The Lord is my Shepherd

(The 23rd Psalm)
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want;
he makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside still waters;

he restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil,
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Amazing Grace Prayer

Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost and now am found
Was blind, but now I see.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope secures,
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come,
Its grace has brought me safe thus far.
and grace will lead me home.
(John Newton)

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and

griefs to bear.
What a privilege to carry everything to God in
prayer. (Joseph Scriven)

Trust Him
Trust him when dark doubts attack you
Trust him when your strength is small
Trust him when to simply trust him
Seems the hardest thing of all.
Trust him, he is ever faithful.
Trust him, for his will is best.
Trust him, for the heart of Jesus
Is the only place of rest.
Trust him, then through gloom and sunshine,
All your cares upon him cast
Until the storm of life is over,
And your trusting days are past.

Jesus answers every prayer, but He doesnt

always give us what we want. Be patient and
He will always answer in a way best for you.

The greatest and first commandment is:

You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.

And the second is:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Love is patient and kind.

It is not jealous or conceited or proud.
Love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable.
Love does not keep a record of wrongs.
Love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the
truth.
Love never gives up
Love is eternal. (1Corinthians 13: 4-8)

Prayer of Surrender
Jesus I am sorry for the many times I have
offended You. I now turn away from my sins and
turn to You.
Please come into my heart and be the Lord of my
life. I recognize You as my Lord and Savior.
Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You
Jesus.

Serenity Prayer
God grant us the serenity to accept
the things we cannot change,
courage to change the things we can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

Freedom
I ask for the grace to believe
in what I could be and do
if only I allowed God, my loving Creator,
to continue to create me, and guide me.
(Saint Francis)

A Letter to Jesus

Dear Jesus,
You died on the Cross to take away
my sins. I confess my sinfulness
and ask for your forgiveness. And
I forgive all those who may have
hurt me in any way.
Jesus, I desire a personal
relationship with you as my Lord
and my Savior.
Jesus, my faith is weak and I
often face temptations.
Develop in me a strong faith and
the wisdom to call on You when I
am in trouble.
Jesus, with your help I will be
careful of what I say and what I
do. Please be in charge of my
life.
I will try to talk to you each
day. Jesus, please guide my life.
