1. Content : The Indonesian Migrant Workers in the
Netherlands
All workers who work in the Netherlands are protected by the
laws of the Dutch government, which keeps human rights without
distinction of race, so it would be happy if we can get to work in a
developed country with a very respectable ethical culture. So the
Dutch minimum wage for those singles that have not married is
about 1300 euro (approximately 20 million) and can be enjoyed by
migrant workers who work in the Netherlands, and the salary was
1300 euro/net, with cut taxes and health insurance costs already.
Nurses household duties may only be able to receive the
1800 euro (about 27 million) care of bed linen salary per month, and
hours of work only 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. Wow, such as an
office employee in Jakarta, but salary workers in the Netherlands
almost 10 times the salary of an office employee. Not surprisingly,
many people flocked to become migrant workers abroad. And if
employers want workers for overtime, the workers are entitled to
overtime pay; overtime pay is hourly wages by 1.5 fold of normal.
But workers have to find their own place, and the average rental
price of a dorm room is around 150 euro per month. And meal costs
should also be borne by the workers. Transportation costs are
generally borne first by the workers then employers would replace
the money transport.
Dutch once colonized Indonesia for 300 years and in the past
the people of Indonesia are often sent to this windmill country to
work, so up to now there are many people of Indonesian descent
who live in the Netherlands. So there are a lot of Indonesian culture
can be seen in the Netherlands. The foods started from Tempe to
durian are very easy to obtain in the Netherlands.
When workers fired for reasons the company went bankrupt,
the workers are entitled to severance pay of at least 30.000 euro
(approximately 450 million). And the workers are entitled to receive

social assistance money from the Dutch Ministry of Labor for 1100
euro (about 16 million) for 6 months.
And the Dutch Ministry of Manpower shall find other suitable
employment for workers who are laid off. If after 6 months are not
able to look for a suitable replacement jobs for workers, the workers
are entitled to a salary of 600 euro (about 9 million) until the
retirement age that are 63 years.
For workers who had been married, the social assistance of
the Dutch government will give even bigger. There is a social trend
in Japan, France and many European countries are famous do not
want to have children, and as a result the population of Europe are
increasingly aging. Perhaps because the birth ratio concern, the
Dutch government provides social security for every child born,
parents are entitled to receive 600 euro for 3 months per toddler.
And countries - European countries generally use a system of
socialism, which is in the midst of Communist systems (e.g. China,
North Korea) and the Liberals (e.g. United States), so with the
highest taxes in the world, the Dutch government can use the tax to
finance social benefits are very good for the community at large. In
the Netherlands, school fees, hospital fees and medical examination
paid by the government, consequently the cost arbitrarily free.
The living situation of migrant workers in the Netherlands can
be said to be similar to many other European countries, such as
Germany, Belgium. Even countries such as Sweden and Denmark
have a social security system that is better than the Dutch. And the
UK arguably slightly worse than the Netherlands, but I'm sure there
are still a far cry different from the situation in our own country,
Indonesia.
