* To improve your sound quality check your Sound Quality by


calling ECHO/SOUND TEST SERVICE in Skype.

* Make sure you have a working headset. Adjust the settings if


the result is not good. Please follow the guidelines from the
websites listed below:

Search Bar and the contact
Echo/Sound Test Service will
automatically appear.

Double-click on the contact


so that a private chat box
will appear.

Click the call button and follow


the audio recorded instructions.

there might be something wrong
with your headset.

Remember to check the mute


button and the volume before the

a. Provide simple and clear explanations.
b. Adjust your speaking pace and your choice of
words. Be conscious of your students level.
c. Use the chat box to explain concepts and give
definitions. You may also send supplementary
materials such as links to pictures and websites, if
necessary.

Politeness to the Student


a. Always address the student with san after
their name. (Example: Hiro-san, Kenji-san)
b. Avoid culture-sensitive topics such as
religion, politics, and World War II.
c. Avoid doing other activities while teaching
the student. (e.g. chatting with friends,
watching TV)

d. Never interrupt the student while talking.
