New Years Day
New Years Day is the first Day of the year on the modern calendar. It
is celebrated with fireworks at the stroke of midnight as the new year
start.
Valentines Day
Its day of St. Valentine. He is known as a martir who died because he
was in favor of love and marriage. As a priest, he continued marrying
couples even against the church orders and was arrested for that. This
day is celebrated on February 14th and people give gifts, chocolates, flowers, cards and
say I love you to people they love.
Halloween
Its on October 31st and people, specially children, wear
costumes and play trick or treat on the students or they go
to costume parties, visited haunted attractions and tell scary
stories and watch horror movies.
Thanksgiving
It is a holiday which is celebrated in the USA as a day of giving
thanks for the blessings they receive during the year. It is
celebrated on the 4th Thrusday of November in the United States.
Generally, families and friends stay together and have a dinner.
The traditional dish of the holiday is Turkey.
Christmas
Its a Christian holiday and it is on December 25th. It celebrates Jesus
Christs birthday. It is the major holiday in countries around the world,
even to non-christian people. People usually give gifts to each other,
decorates their house and streets with Christmas ornaments and lights.
Families usually come together for the Christmas holidays and have a
traditional Christmas dinner.
