DIRECTORS NOTE
Though the previous boom in the sector resulted in augmentation of supply, unfortunately it was in the wake of the downturn of the cycle, causing a
demand-supply mismatch. This led to a major slump in hotel business, despite a small pickup in demand in 2015.
The hotel industry in India thrives largely due to the growth in tourism and travel. Now with the indian governments reforms to improve tourism like e-visa
expansion scheme, Incredible India, M-Visa, Atithi Devo Bhava, Project Mausam etc along with the upcoming GST bill, we see the beginning of the upcycle in
2016. The boom in the tourism industry has had a cascading effect on the hospitality sector with an increase in the occupancy ratios and average room rates.
We feel that this combination of increased demand and tapering supply will provide an impetus to the growth of the Indian Hotel Industry in 2016.
making inroads into this space by introducing their different brands to cater to every segment giving rise to micro markets, like the emergence of budget and
mid-market hotels to cater to the majority of the population who seek affordable stay along with upscale 5 star experience. Contributing to a huge chunk of the
development pipeline (number of hotels) in India.
We see that, in the long term, the demand-supply gap in India is very real and that there is need for more hotels in most cities. Thus the increase in tourists
(both domestic and foreign) not supported with equal number of rooms is a latent source of opportunity to capitalise on. It is essential for Hoteliers and Solution
Providers to understand and adapt to the changing pulse and expectations from the industry.

The Hotel industry in 2016 is likely to experience robust growth riding on the back of rising disposable incomes and favorable industry statistics.
With 7 events lined up across India, this year, for the Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, Hospitality and Education segments, we look forward to
assisting a strong line-up of project holders and solution providers in order to do business - quicker and smarter.
Solution providers will be able to pre-schedule appointments with the Hosted Buyers that they identify as relevant to their business interests. Last year witnessed
over 8,200 appointments between Hosted Buyers and Solution Providers and we foresee a rise by up to 10,000 appointments this year.
Our clients are our extended family, which is why your needs remain our primary focus every step of the way and I would like to thank each one of you for being
part of our journey so far and would like to welcome all our new members to yet another exciting journey, for the possibilities of what we can achieve together
