ABOUT THE DIGITAL BOOK


It provides 11 chapters concerning the development
of multimedia learning, consists of comperehensive
structure of informations related. It also has summary
and bibliography for each chapter.

In general, this application has been developed
comprehensively, consist of 5 (five) instructional factors
relevant to and common to all interactive multimedia
(Alessi&Trollip, 2001), including:

Multimedia contents, including: text, image, video,


audio, animation and interactivity are presented in
appropriate way and well functioning.
Flipping effect provides reading book sensation.
The methodology category is Multimedia Tutorial, in the
way it provides informations and directions for users
includes: introduction, information, questions and
responses, judgement of responses, feedback/
remediation, organization and sequence of program
segments, dan learner control. It is appropriate to the
target users of bachelors or masters degree student.
User can explore informations relevant to the need or
requirement.
Format Delivery in CD/DVD package to be more
accessible for PC/Mac.

Although the multimedia contents are presented


comprehensively, but some features require
improvements, such as: video and audio content that
only properly working on web version instead
flashmovie version. In reverse, interactive quiz feature
can only be functioned while the digital book is in
flashmovie mode, and the movie embeded can not be
played consistanly.
Digital flip book desktop based is visually attracted, but
not ergonomically. It is not efficient to be used.
Less readibility by less font size of 12px. Users must take
full concentration to get deep understanding about the
information inside.
Interactive media that is compatible with current
technological developments should be based on
Android or other mobile devices. Digital book which is
integrated to mobile or android media will be much
easier and useful. It will be easy to operate and
portable.

friendly to explore all parts of the book content.
Designed in colors, font type and font size which
appropriate to the target users.
The Manual Guide Book is available separately from the
application. It supposed to be integrated in the digital
book application.

Learner Control of a Program

It provides complete navigation controls, including::


next page, previous page, first page, last page, table of
content, bibliography, print, music, zoom in, zoom out,
search, fullscreen, about, exit. And all buttons are
displayed with the caption function.
Navigation buttons and hyperlinks are recognizable,
user friendly and the file size are proportional to the
composition and layout of text.

One of the digital book disadvantages is that it takes


time to load the following pages or previews.
There is still no feature for users that provide information
about currently position over the entire content or
chapters.
User Control

Presentation of Information
Informations presented consistently, including:
1. The information of book contents
2. Font size, font type, margin and line setting, layout
and object position, bullet and numbering.
3. Color options (in pastel colors), image (flat
design)
Text, image, and video are provided proportionate in
layout. When properly used, multimedia contents can
enhance learning motivation.
Background music is not used intentionally to avoid
distortions in the learning process.
Color options corresponding to users target (warm pastel
color)
Less readability because of less fontsize. Digital book size
supposed to be adjusted by the desktop size (landscape
mode)
Main Chapter page quality is less as it has been converted
from vector to bitmap image mode.
And the option of using Kristen ITC fontipe is
unappropriate to the layout and other components.

Providing Help
Provide Search menu to easily find a text or keyword we
need to find out related to the content.
Provide Manual Book for digital book.

Feature

Due to the available buttons as default of Kvisoft


application, it is not allowed for developer to insert
features help within the application.

Ending a Program
Provide exit menu that accessible anytime by users.
Final message will be displayed to confirm the user is
about to leave the program.
