Community
Bartow County is located in the scenic foothills of
Georgia's Appalachian Mountains, approximately
45 miles northwest of the city limits of Atlanta and
included in the Metro Atlanta Service Area. As the
25th largest school district in the state of Georgia,
Bartow County School System is home to
approximately 14,178 students. There are 21
schools in Bartow County, each accredited by the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
These include 12 elementary, 4 middle, and 3 high
schools, as well as the Bartow County College and
Career Academy (BCCCA).
School
Woodland High School was founded in 1997 and
had its first graduating class in 2000, serving a
largely rural community. WHS follows a 4x4 Block
schedule. Our academic year is August May.

Wisdom, Honor, Successthe Woodland Way!

Curriculum
WHS course offerings include Advanced Placement
(AP), Honors, CTAE, and Fine Arts. Advanced
courses are available in all academic areas. College
dual credit classes are also offered. 23 credits are
required to graduate. Class rank is cumulative for
four years and weighted on the basis of the
curriculum level. All classes and all students
pursuing a regular diploma are calculated in the
class rank. AP & Honor classes are weighted for
GPA and class rank purposes. AP course grades
include an additional 5 points to final grade;
honors classes have 3 points added to final grade.
In 2015, 77.4% AP test takers received college
credit by scoring a 3 or higher on their exam.
