GUIDELINES IN POWERPOINT PRESENTATION OF YOUR GROUPS

SHORT STORY PLOT CONCEPT

1. FIRST SLIDE is the RESULTS OF THE VOTING for your GROUPS final
story theme. The GROUP LEADER should present ALL the suggestions
for the story theme and the brainstorming that took place for them
to decide on their story theme.
The group leader should also discuss how he/she has handled
objections or resistance if there is any which could have been
the groups main problem in proceeding with the next steps.
This slide should actually be the INTRODUCTION.
Be direct to the point here, GROUP LEADERS. Dont tell us a long
story please.
2. SECOND SLIDE is the INDIVIDUAL TASK ASSIGNMENT. The group
leaders task here is just to present it. Anyhow, the slide could speak
for itself since MERE NAMES and ASSIGNMENTS are the information
expected here.
3. THIRD SLIDE is the EXPOSITION. This should consist of the
background description of the setting (time or place or both) and the
dominant characteristics of the character/s and the situation that
confronts the character/s.
Take note you could already introduce a CONFICT HERE.
Discuss to us why YOU have decided to place your character/s in
such situation. What has you motivated then? Even the naming of
your character/s has also a reason, right? so tell us why, too.
THIS SHOULD CONSIST OF FOUR SENTENCES ONLY.

4. FOURTH SLIDE is the RISING ACTION. This should present a

SERIES OF CONFLICTS.
THIS SHOULD CONSIST OF FOUR SENTENCES ONLY.
Discuss why YOU think SUCH CONFLICTS are necessary.
5.

FIFTH SLIDE is the CLIMAX. This should be the PEAK

CULMINATION OF YOUR CONFLICTS.

Make sure YOU make us feel the HIGHEST EMOTIONAL TENSION

here.
Discuss WHY YOU THINK this is the CLIMAX of your STORY. What
particular emotion/s could be evoked in this part of your story?
THIS SHOULD CONSIST OF TWO SENTENCES ONLY.
6. SIXTH SLIDE is the FALLING ACTION. This should be the DROPPING of
the TENSION in your story.
Discuss WHY YOU THINK this part almost LEADS us all to the ENDING
OF YOUR STORY. What problem/s are already partly or almost solved
here? What secrets or mysteries are partly or almost revealed here?
THIS SHOULD CONSIST OF TWO SENTENCES ONLY.
7. SEVENTH SLIDE is the DENOUEMENT. This is the FINAL PART of your
story. All problems and mysteries should have been dealt with in this
part.
Discuss WHAT TYPE OF ENDING is your ENDING. Refer to our
LECTURE ON INTRODUCTION TO SHORT STORY for your guidance on
this matter.
Discuss WHY YOU THINK this is THE BEST ENDING for your story.
THIS SHOULD CONSIST OF TWO SENTENCES ONLY.
