Helminth infection and allergy is most often the children of primary school.

Both
have the same immune response in the form of an increase of IgE. Allergy is
more common in urban areas than in rural areas because of environmental
sanitation is worse in rural areas. This study aimed to analyze the relationship
between soil-transmitted helminth infections (STH) with the risk of the incidence
of allergies in children grades 1-4 SD Negeri 1 Krawangsari, Natar, South
Lampung. The research done by cross sectional study or collection of data at a
time from October to November 2015. The subject of research is derived from
1,2,3 and 4th grade students of SD Negeri 1 Krawangsari, Natar, South Lampung
totaling 36 students. Subject of the study collected samples of feces and elderly
subjects fill out questionnaires ISAAC penitian be guided. Stool samples
examined microscopically with qualitative methods such as floating laboratory
methods. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate chi-square test. The
results showed 50% of research subjects infected with worms and 33.3% of
research subjects have a history of allergic disease. Chi-Square test results
demonstrate the value of p = 0.077 (CI = 90%, OR = 0.2) indicates there is an
inverse relationship between the risk of STH infections incidence of allergies.
Children who are infected with worms tend to not have a history of allergic
diseases or worms provide a protective effect against allergies.
