InSmartIT,anadministratorcanaddoneormoredynamicmenufieldsthathavemenusassociatedwiththeminBMCRemedyITServiceManagement(BMC
RemedyITSM).Youcanconfiguremenufieldsontheuniversalclient,usingtheScreenConfigurationoption.Atruntime,thesemenuswillbeavailableonall
clients.Thesemenufieldsaredependentmenussuchas,OwnerSupportCompany,OwnerSupportOrganization,OwnerGroup,andOwner.Dependent
fieldsarepartoftheBMCRemedyITSMmenuqualification.TheSmartITserverrequiresthesefieldstoexpandamenuandfetchmenuitems.Therefore,you
mustensurethatthesefieldsareavailableinSmartIT.
UsingthePopulatevaluewithdifferentfieldoption,youcanconfigureamenuthathasadifferentlabelandvaluefromoneanother(aspartoftheBMCRemedy
ITSMmenudefinition),wherethevalueisstoredinanotherfield.YouselectthisoptiononlywhenafieldhasamenuassociatedwithitinBMCRemedyITSM.

Addingasinglemenufield
1.FromtheConfigurationmenu,selectScreenConfiguration.
2. IntheConfigurationwindow,selectanareainaSmartITview.Forexample,selectRecordSummaryintheIncidentview.
3.UnderAvailableFields,clicktheAdd(+)iconforamenufieldyouwanttoadd.
ThemenufieldisthendisplayedunderSelectedFields.

ToaddtheCIfield,alldependentfieldsmustbeavailableinSmartIT.DependentfieldsaredisplayedinthemenuqualificationthatisconfiguredinITSM.In
thisexample,thez1D_Local_DataSetIDandPersonIDfieldsarenotavailableinSmartIT.Thefollowingtableprovidesmoreinformationaboutdependent

Meaning
ThefieldismissingfromBMCRemedyActionRequestSystem(BMCRemedyARSystem)formsandhencenotconfiguredinSmartIT.
Hoveroverthe

5.TheCImenufieldhasamenuassociatedwithitinBMCRemedyITSM.ToknowwhichfieldtoselectinthetextboxunderPopulatevaluewithdifferent
field,youmustlookforthemenudefinitionintheBMCRemedyDeveloperStudio.OntheHPD:HelpDeskform,
theHPD:CustomerCIwithoutBusinessServicemenuisassociatedwiththeCImenufield.IntheHPD:CustomerCIwithoutBusinessServicemenu,the
valuefieldfortheCImenufieldisReconciliationIdentity.InBMCRemedyITSM,thevalueoftheCImenufieldinactivelinkisset
toHPD_CI_ReconIDmenufield.

fulfillthevalidationfilters(ifany)tosavedependentfieldstogether.

2.IntheConfigurationwindow,selectanareaintheSmartITview.Forexample,selectRecordSummaryintheIncidentview.
