We were able to welcome a number of past pupils back to Brampton this week. On Monday Mr
Burman, a pupil here from 1949-1956 came to talk to Year 6 about his time at Brampton. Mr
Edwards, a pupil here in the 1970s spoke to Year 3. After ex-pupils who visited included Mr Scutt,
Mrs Stanbrook and Mr Coppen who spoke to Year 5 about the 60s and Mr Godby who was a pupil
here in the 1970s. Mr Burrell, a previous deputy head teacher returned to speak to Year 5 and 6
about his winning football team who made it through 10,000 other schools to play the final at
Wembley. He answered their questions and showed a video of the event.

As well as the school celebrating its 75th birthday FOB are also celebrating their 15th birthday.
Friends of Brampton was established when Mr Richardson started as head and has gone from
strength to strength since then. FOB have organised a fantastic range of activities to raise funds and to
give enjoyment to parents and children alike; Race nights, quiz nights, pamper evenings, Magical
Christmas Fairs, Inflatable Days, Harrods Sale trips, Boot Fairs, roller skating and discos—I lost
count of how many different themes for these! All have raised funds for a huge number of projects
over the last 15 years which so many children have benefitted from—Easter Egg hunt, classroom
games for wet playtimes, maths games, the original computer suite, laptops and environmental
projects, the list could go on. To mark both occasions members of FOB delivered to every child,
governor and member of staff a commemorative Teddy bearing the school logo as a token to recall
this week.
Congratulations and many thanks to FOB for all their hard work over the last 15 years, towards the
events this week and to many more years to come. Brampton is a better place for all your efforts!!

back on the sessions which was all very positive. Many commented on their improved confidence
and ability to support their child’s learning at home. Here are some of the comments from them—“I
thoroughly enjoyed the course and have highly recommended it to other parents.” “Maths can be
fun!” “The tutor was very approachable , helpful, informative …” “ I was given excellent support
throughout the course.” “ It was hard at times but I loved it!” “it made me realize that I can do this
subject and I’m not as bad as I thought! It has given me the confidence to help my children.”
Many thanks also to Claire Coles of Bexley Adult Education for leading such a successful course. We
look forward to providing another course as soon as possible.
