IMRD Report
INTRODUDTION:
it is very useful to understand the dynamics of single turbine, the overall nature of the wind
power plant (WPP) and the correctness in modelling the whole system is very critical in
assessing wind power plant (WPP) qualities.
Systems for wind power plant (WPP) search to decrease power losses and voltage drops
within a wind power plant (WPP), wind turbines are mostly adjusted at the place where the
pressure of wind is so high.
The turbine structure on a big scale wind power plant (WPP) on a plane terrain is so different
than the structure of a wind power plant (WPP) placed.A wind power plant (WPP) may
consist at several hundred singel wind generators and miles of underground and overhead the
whole system. An equivalent model (e.g., an individual generator behind an whole system) is
the basic need for the largescale simulations that are typically conducted in planning studies.
This report is intended to assess how the aggregate behavior of several tens to several
hundred generators comprised in a wind power plant (WPP) should be captured using the
Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) generating models.
The objective of this short report is to explain the data required to perform constant state and
dynamicobservations of a wind power plant (WPP)

constant state analysis includes less power

losses and voltage controle.

MATHODOLOGY:
I read an article about wind power from a newspaper, moreover I used different authentic
internet links to collect valid data about wind power. I met a professor Dr. Abdul Raoof Khan
who is working in Pakistan National Wind Energy Limited as a project director. He told all
the authentic information about these turbines that a typical modern wind power plant
consists of hundreds of turbines of the same types. A WTG is usually rated at low three phase
voltage output (480 600 V). A pad mounted transformer at the turbine stepup the voltage to
medium voltage (12 kV 34.5 kV). Several turbines are connected in a daisy chain to form a
group. Several of these groups are connected to a larger feeder. Several of these feeders are

connected to the substation where the substation transformer steps up the voltage to a desired
transmission level (e.g., 230 kV). A very large wind power plant (WPP) consists of several
substations with sizes of 50 MVA or higher for substation transformers.
The method used here is free of the power system execution of programs such as PSLF and
PSS/E. It is also free from the type of turbines used. New wind power plant (WPP) usually
consists of uniform turbines given by the same turbine products, however, older wind power
plants (WPP).

RESULTS:
This project shows remarkable results that are very useful for the people of Pakistan. The
projects are to produced two 0.8 MW wind turbine in Karachi, Pakistan. These will generator
renewable electricity, to displace fossil fuel powered electricity from the grid stations where
electricity is distribute to cities and towns. Each turbine will generate enough electricity every
year to power the equal to 550 homes in the Germany saving 1500 tonnes of CO2 each per
year. This power plant is used and created the energy which is used for the production of
electricity in Pakistan the electricity produced by this method is so cheap that a poor man can
easily pay the expenditure.

DISCRIPTION:
In this report, we sum up the project which covers energetic model progress of fourtypes of
wind turbine generators, data assortment needed for model justification, power flow wind
power plant resemblance, model validation, and model strategy developed for WECC. in
spite of the outwardly large range of utilityscale WTGs in the market, each can be
confidential in one of four basic types, based on the generator topology and grid border. The
typical topological sort of each type are listed below:
1 permanentspeed, induction generator
2 changeable slip, induction generators with up-and-down rotor confrontation
3 changeable speed, even morefed asynchronous generators with rotorside converter
4 changeable speed generators with full converter boundary

Progress report on production of Electricity in Pakistan

BACKGROUND:
As the size and number of wind power plant (WPP) increases in Pakistan, power system planners
will need to study their impact on the power system in more detail. As the level of wind power
infiltration into the grid increases, the transmit system mixing desires will become more significant
A very large WPP may contain hundreds of mega watt (MW) size wind turbines. These turbines are
interconnected by an intricate collector system. While the crash of entity turbines on the larger power
system network is negligible, jointly, wind turbines can have a noteworthy impact on the power
system during a severe riot, such as a nearby fault .
Power flow examination and dynamic analysis are commonly performed by value system
planners, and WPP developers during various stages of wind power plant (WPP) development.
Although it is important to model a wind power plant (WPP) to be as close as possible to the real
execution, representing hundreds of turbine and the equivalent hundreds of branches are not practical,
so a simplified equal representation is usually used.

Recommendation:
I recommend that the government of Pakistan should place some wind turbines in areas
where the pressure of wind is high.

DISCUTION:
This report focus on our effort to develop an equal symbol of a wind power plant (WPP) saver

system for power system planning studies. The design of the wind power plant (WPP) , the size and
type of conductors used, and the method of relief (overhead or covert cables) all authority the
characteristic and recital of the collector system inside the wind power plant (WPP) . Our
endeavour to develop an equivalent illustration of the collector system for wind power plant (WPP)
is an challenge to shorten power system modelling for future developments or planned expansion of

wind power plant (WPP) . even though we use a exact large wind power plant (WPP) as a case
study, the concept is applicable for any type of wind power plant (WPP) . The concepts described
in this report are based on the work presented in reference .
In new wind power plant (WPP) , the wind turbine used is generally of the same type and complete
by the same manufacturer. Often the characteristic of a wind power plant (WPP) can be represent
by a single generator equivalent or single turbine depiction.

Progress report on production of Electricity in Pakistan

INTRODUCTION:
In this report, we explain methods to derive and confirm equivalent models for a large wind power

plant (WPP) .FPL Energys 204MW New Mexico Wind Energy Centre, which is consistent to the
civil. provision Company of New Mexico (PNM) broadcast system, was used as a case study. The
methods describe are valid to any large wind power plant (WPP) . We will exemplify how to run a
simplified singlemachine corresponding model of a large wind power plant (WPP) (that include
an equal investor system model), preserving the net steady state and dynamic behavior of the real
installation . Another part of this report describe methods to derive equivalent models for a wind

power plant (WPP) with different types and size of wind turbine.
The purpose of this task was to provide tactic of equivalecing wind power plant (WPP) for power
system dynamic studies. This report discusses the root of the equation used to equivalent major parts
of wind power plant (WPP) (i.e., collector systems, pad mounted transformer, and wind turbine
etc.).
The process is illustrate with specific examples, both for a identical wind power plant (WPP) or for
a power plant with different turbine sorts and bulk.

WORK COMPLETED:
The corroboration method describe in this report is appropriate for all the four types of wind
turbine generators.

The results of the simulation established that a generic model of (DFIGs) provides an
sufficient symbol of the actual wind turbines under error conditions. In the report, the
simulation is also performed with all 136 turbine linked on line. For both the full system
depiction and the two turbine illustration, it shows that the output of real and reactive power
at the point of interconnection matches the measured field data. Thus. model the with an
equivalent depiction preserves the basic comeback of the wind power plant (WPP)

Work Scheduled:
In 2009 we made around 50 turbines in Karachi. Now we are planning to built some more
wind turbine plants in other cities of Pakistan specially on the hilly areas of Islamabad and
Murree because the electricity in these areas is not sufficient to fulfil the needs of people. So,
we planned to put atleast 50 turbines on Margalla Hills of Islamabad and 30 Turbines on the
Hills of Aubia.
For this purpose we have contacted some government authorities as well and our demand for
this project is $50,000. We will also place some turbines in Peshawar after the completion of
project in Islamabad and Murree.

Problems:
While working on this project the main problem that we faced is financial. Moreover there is
not a proper place in the Hilly areas to built turbines so first we have to made some planes on
these hilly areas. For this purpose time consumption is a great problem. Also some people
have their land on these hilly areas and they are not allowing us to built turbines.
