X has demonstrated a solid understanding of language and analysis


techniques addressed so far this term. Her Poem and accompanying
Writers Statement showed an in-depth knowledge of language
techniques and how these techniques effect readers. X is attentive in
class and keen to learn, however, I encourage her to ask questions
when she is unsure to maximise learning opportunities.
This term, X demonstrated a basic understanding of language
techniques and perspectives explored in creative texts. Her Poem
contained adequate techniques, which she was able to identify in her
writer's statement, however, her justification of these techniques and
the effect they had on the audience was lacking. X needs to focus on
her fluency of writing next term by proofreading her assessments.
X demonstrated focus and organisation this term, working hard to
stay on track after an extended absence. He created a Poem that
displayed a range of language techniques, which he identified in the
accompanying Writers Statement with basic justification. X works
diligently in class to maximise his learning opportunities. I encourage
him to continue this positive work ethic next term.
X is a capable student who does not always utilise class time
effectively. Her poor organisation resulted in the non-submission of
drafts for assessments. X Poem demonstrated excellent potential,
however, the accompanying Writer's Statement contained insufficient
detail and justification of techniques. I encourage her to address her
time management and seek help when she feels overwhelmed to
improve next term.
X produced high quality work this term. His Poem displayed
thoughtfulness and creativity and was consolidated by a well-written
Writer's Statement, however, it lacked some justification of language
techniques and how they affect the audience. X is mostly attentive in
class, although he can sometimes be distracted by the people around
him. I encourage him to focus during lesson to maximise his learning
opportunities.
X has showed improvement in her written work this term. Her clarity
and fluency of writing is refined, a result of excellent drafting and
proofreading. X produced a wonderful poem and accompanying
writer's statement, however, her justification of her linguistic choices
and language techniques could have been further explored. I
encourage her to continue this positive work ethic to maximise her
learning opportunities.
X is a hard working and diligent student who consistently strives to
achieve at a high level. She is attentive in class and asks questions
to clarify her understanding. X demonstrated creativity by producing
a Poem and accompanying Writer's Statement, justifying her linguistic
choices. X work would benefit from proofreading as her writing lacks
some fluency. I encourage her to focus on this next term.
X is a passionate student who consistently strives for perfection. This
term, she produced a solid example of Poetry and an accompanying
Writer's Statement that outlined linguistic choices and language
techniques, however, her justification of these techniques lacked
some detail. X clarity and fluency of expression is excellent and she
utilises her class time to the best of her ability.
X is a well-meaning student who has expressed her creativity and
imagination this term, however, her time management and
adherence to due dates is severely lacking. She showed basic
understanding of poetic writing and language technique, although
she did not provide sufficient justification. I strongly encourage X to
focus on time management next term to avoid rushing work and

producing sub-standard assessment tasks.

X showed a solid understanding of topics covered this term. He


produced an excellent Poem that demonstrated his knowledge of
language techniques and displayed his creativity. X Writer's
Statement identified the techniques he utilised in his poem, however,
included only a basic justification for their use. X can often be
distracted during lessons and I encourage him to work on his focus
next term.
X has continued to demonstrate her passion for English through high
quality and thoughtful assessment pieces. She produced an excellent
Poem and accompanying Writer's Statement, identifying and
justifying her linguistic choices and language techniques. X is
attentive in class, asking questions to clarify her understanding and
maximise her learning opportunities. I encourage her to continue this

statement lacked detailed justification of language techniques and
fluency and accuracy in writing. X is attentive in class and asks
questions to clarify her understanding. I encourage her to proofread
her work to eliminate minor errors that effect her eloquence in

organisation have severely impacted her performance. She displayed
a basic understanding of language techniques in the draft of her
Poem, yet did not submit a final copy on time, even after an
extension was granted. I strongly encourage X to address how she
utlises her time, both in class and at home, to maximise her learning
opportunities.

implemented them in his Poem. His accompanying analysis provided
justification of his use of techniques, however, it lacked detail and indepth understanding in some areas. X lacks attention in class and is
often distracted. I encourage him to address this to maximise his
learning opportunities next term.
X Poem and accompanying Writer's Statement demonstrated a solid
understanding of language techniques and how they influence
readers. Her analysis justified language choices, however, it lacked
detail and in-depth explanation. I encourage X to check her work
against performance standards to ensure all aspects have been met
and I am confident that this will lead to improvement in her tasks.
X demonstrated adequate understanding of content covered this
term. She produced a poem and accompanying writer's statement
that was generally fluent and well-written, however, it lacked any
justification of techniques used and their subsequent effect on the
reader. X needs to read assessment tasks thoroughly and check she
is addressing the performance standards provided. I encourage her to
focus on this next term.
X produced an excellent creative piece in our poetry unit. He justified
his writing and language decisions in a structured and fluent Writer's
Statement. X written work is articulate and consistently wellconsidered. He clarifies tasks in class and consistently seeks to
improve his understanding. X persistently works to increase his skills
and is an attentive member of our English class.

X demonstrated a positive effort and solid skill set in English this


term. She produced a quality assessment, creating a poem and
accompanying writer's statement that showed in-depth
understanding of language techniques. X is attentive in class, asking
questions and clarifying her comprehension. She maximises her
learning opportunities and I encourage her to continue this work ethic
next term.
