BUSINESS CONCEPT
Protection starts in ourselves and every person needs protection, especially for

women, some of us dont know how to protect ourselves or prevent other people from
hurting us. Even though our country is now getting on its way to become one of the
safest countries in the world, we cant deny the fact that still there are lot of villains
everywhere. And our country is now on the theory of experiencing Big One in the
near future so we must be prepared.
Self-defense is the act of defending yourself, your property or another person
together with yourself. Our business proposal enables one to protect him/herself on an
uncertain event. We also included products that will be useful especially in emergency
situation on home or on the go.
These self-defense accessories, emergency/safety tools that make you capable of
protecting yourself during an attack, or needing tools for emergency purposes are
affordable especially made for students and female employees goes off to school or
work on the late hours of the night.
It is not about for protection but also it has fashion so that girls would not be
ashamed bringing this kind of self-defence kit and people with bad intention around us
would not notice that we are well prepared about their movements. It can put inside of
your bag or just cling it at the zipper of your bags for easiest way to use it in case of
emergency. It also indicates the usage, how to use, and where to use this kind of tool.
Always remember that this is not a toy but a tool for protection. In this modern days,

we dont know what would happen to us when we are not in our home, while we are
walking in the street, we are on the road or wherever we go, so WE MUST ALWAYS

life can throw at you. Being equipped with the right self-defense products can mean
the difference between life and death.
Life-God partnership provides tools for protection, security and emergency
purposes. The partnership will help the people to be safe always. The tools that the
company will provide are fashionable and useful. Easy to use for women, elderly, men
or children.
a. Mission-Vision of Life-God
The company aims to serve different individuals who enjoy eating healthy
snacks. To be able to meet their satisfaction is our ultimate goal which we can only
achieve through producing healthy products. We also want to help people manage
their fitness through our health-related snacks. We strive to be one of the most
successful producers of healthy snacks in the Philippines.
b. Management Highlights
The organization is composed of the managers, supervisor and employees.
Each one of them has his/her duties and responsibilities to contribute to the
success of the company. The managers make sure that they carefully plan and
decide whats best for the company. The supervisor guides the employees and
makes sure that the raw materials are being used efficiently. The employees
execute the activities to be done in the company to be able to produce the

products to be offered. Rewards and benefits are discussed to ensure that
employees are given the right treatment corresponding to their dedication and
effort that they give to the company.
c. Marketing Highlights
The company chose the business to business approach as they find it the
easiest way to penetrate the market which is the safety industry. The company will
target two popular tools store which are ACE Hardware and SM Hardware.
Overall, the company will target security agencies and police department for
selling strategy. The company considered the following factors in choosing the
business to transact with: their location, product lines, values and skills. These are
the factors that the entrepreneurs think is significant to the success of the
company. The promotional tools were also enumerated and explained. The
promotional activities include the distribution of calling cards and brochures, the
setting up of websites and different social networking sites and the use of vehicle
advertising. Some marketing tools were also done in order to further explain the
marketing situation of the company. These include the SWOT analysis and the Key
Success Factor.
d. Financial Highlights
The study of the financial stability of the company will consider 3years of
projected sales and costs from 2016 to 2019. The figures are the basis when it
comes to the growth of sales and if the company is earning or losing. From this
point, it will be able to know the overall cost of the company to be able to

determine how the company is continuously operating through the next years.
Government regulations are followed and applied when it comes to paying taxes
and the legality of the business.
e. Socio Economic Contribution
All businesses have a purpose. It all depends on how the founders of the
corporation will pursue their view on what the company should be. The
socioeconomic aspect tackles the vision and mission of the company. It also gives
an overview on how the government, the customers, the community and the
proponents will benefit from the company and how these benefits can help them
respectively. It also gives a glimpse on the principles and values of the people who
built up the company.

This business will be named as Life-God; it comes from the word Lifeguard which

means safety. But for us, God is always our savior so we used to change the name
guard to God. We want our customer to understand that God wants us to be safe
always as He is always watching and guiding us.

KEY TO BUSINESS OPERATIONS


An operational plan forms part of the businesss strategic plan and is important for

effective business leadership. It describes how the work will be done, the workflow
from input to end results, including the resources that will be used along the way, all of
which are required for success.

Streamlined business systems also define how you will deal with risks, and how
you will ensure sustainability of the projects achievements.
An operational plan also explains how, or what portion of, a strategic plan will be
put into operation during a given operational period.
The key to the business operation are:
1. Safety and Quality Materials. We are about to offer a safety tool so we ensure
that customers will be safe about our products. Divisoria, Manila is our wholesaler
and they will deliver the products safely and in goodness in our manufacturing
company. We will secure that our customers will also receive a high quality product
with safety usage and precautions for better use.
2. Technology Utilization. The company utilize technology to open up new markets,
serve customers, increase efficiency and new product and service development to
the better chance of besting competitions. Our company has a best influenced
when it comes to technology to create tools at lower costs or to increased our
productivity. The delivery of products must be in efficient and reliable distribution.
3. Affirmative Location. A stall at the front of LRT Lane 2, Legarda Station. Our
manufacturing company will be located at Calmelray,Calamba, Laguna. This place
is the center of the U-Belt and students are our target market. This location
perfectly fits for our firm.
4. Knowledge Employees. A key to business success is a motivated workforce. We
must have that for vision and planning to provide the framework for growth and
prosperity. Our employees will provide all their knowledge, skills and experiences
labor, at the same time we will train them to equipped them with more knowledge

5. Global Footprint.Even if our business is strictly local, the size of our global

world of instant communication, we will have the ability to share information by the
use of social media, flyers and strategic planning to entertain customers, develop
new products and open new markets more easily than ever before. We examined
more ways to expand globally and make it a part of our plan that is continually
reviewed and graded.

Life-God is the company name. As for the owners of this company are religious so

we decided to put up a business that is related to God. It will also help us to use this
business to inform to our customers that safety is important but also safety always
starts in ourselves and believing God as well. With the use of our tools it can save their
life in emergency or for safety. The product that the group have chosen, coincides with
the company name considering that if the company wants to have other products, it
will concentrate more on safety and emergency tools.
It is a partnership between six ladies who contribute their knowledge, skills, and
ideas to be able to come up with products that will be unique in market. Partnership is
a great form of business because basically two or more heads are better than one, our
business will have established easier at low cost, more capital is available for

SALARIES AND BENEFITS

For managers of the firm:


The salary of the top manager officer will be P 550.00 per day. (10am until 8pm

Social Security Systems (SSS) Contributions


Republic Act No. 8282, otherwise known as the Social Security Act of 1997, refers
to the social security system in the Philippines that is initiated, developed and
promoted by its government. The social security system is aimed at providing
protection for the SSS member against socially recognized hazard conditions, such as
sickness, disability, maternity, old age and death, or other such contingencies not
stated but resulted in loss of income or results to a financial burden.
The employee and his/her employer(s) are to contribute for the social security
benefits of the said employee in accordance to a given schedule by the Philippine
Social Security System. Monthly employee contribution depends on the employee's
actual monthly salary. (See: Circular No. 33-P)
Contribution to National Health Insurance Program (NHIP)
The employee and his/her employer(s) are to contribute for the medical insurance
of the said employee in accordance to the Republic Act 7835 on Medicare Program
which is administered by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth).
Monthly employee contribution depends on the employee's actual monthly salary. The
contribution schedule is provided by Philhealth. (See: Philhealth Premium Contribution
Schedule)

Contribution to Home Development and Mutual Fund (HDMF)
The employer(s) is required to contribute per month not less than P100.00 to the
employee's Home Development and Mutual Fund. In accordance to the periodic
remittance schedule provided by HDMF, the employer(s) will remit this contribution, in
addition to that of the employee's, which is to be deducted from his/her payroll.
The 13th Month Pay
As mandated by the Presidential Decree No. 851, the employee shall receive a
bonus salary equivalent to one (1) month, regardless of the nature of his/her
employment, not later than December 24 of every year.
Incentive Leave
Book III, Chapter III of the Labor Code of the Philippines covers the employee's
benefit for Service Incentive Leaves. According to Article 95, an employee who has
rendered at least one year of service is entitled to a yearly five days service incentive
leave with pay. (See: Article 95, Conditions of Employment)
Meal and Rest Periods
Under Article 83, the employee is provided a one-hour employee benefit for
regular meals, when working on an eight (8 hour) stretch. Employees are also
provided adequate rest periods in the morning and afternoon which shall be counted
as hours worked. (See: Article 83, Conditions of Employment)

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL
Performance appraisal deals with how organizations evaluate and measure its

employees achievements and behaviours. It is an employee review by his manager


where his work performance is evaluated and strengths and weaknesses are identified
so that the employee knows his improvement areas. Performance appraisal is the right
time to set new goals and objectives for the employees.
A performance appraisal (PA) also referred to as a performance review,
performance evaluation, (career) development discussion or employee appraisal is a
method by which the job performance of an employee is documented and evaluated.
Performance appraisals are a part of career development and consist of regular
reviews of employee performance within organizations.
Performance appraisal system allows the management to categorize employees
into performers and non-performers. It is primarily done to estimate the employees
worth.
A performance appraisal should be about motivating and empowering an
employee to deliver their maximum. It should be a culmination of a series of
meaningful performance discussions over the course of the year and acts as a
punctuation point, where previous performance is evaluated and future performance
objectives are agreed.
Appraisals and associated feedback should also be kept constructive and mapped
back to the individuals job role and the strategic objectives of the company. Activities

can then be planned to identify the performance element under discussion and show
ways of improving it going forward.
I.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT


Human resource management (HRM) conducts performance management.
Performance management systems consist of the activities and/or processes
embraced by an organization in anticipation of improving employee performance, and
therefore, organizational performance. Consequently, performance management is
conducted at the organizational level and the individual level. At the organizational
level, performance management oversees organizational performance and compares
present performance with organizational performance goals.
The achievement of these organizational performance goals depends on the
performance of the individual organizational members. Therefore, measuring individual
employee performance can prove to be a valuable performance management process
for the purposes of HRM and for the organization. Many researchers would argue that
"performance appraisal is one of the most important processes in Human Resource
Management".
The performance management process begins with leadership within the
organization creating a performance management policy.
Primarily,

management

governs

performance

by

influencing

employee

performance input (e.g. training programs) and by providing feedback via output (i.e.
performance assessment and appraisal). "The ultimate objective of a performance
management process is to align individual performance with organizational

performance". A very common and central process of performance management
systems is performance appraisal (PA).The PA process should be able to inform
employees about the "organization's goals, priorities, and expectations and how well
they are contributing to them"
The six steps involved in process of performance appraisal are as follows:
1. Establish Performance Standards:
The appraisal process begins with the establishment of performance
standards. The managers must determine what outputs, accomplishments
and skills will be evaluated. These standards should have evolved out of job
analysis and job descriptions.
These performance standards should also be clear and objective to be
understood and measured. Standards should not be expressed in an
articulated or vague manner such as a good job or a full days work as
these vague phrases tells nothing.
2. Communicate Performance Expectations to Employees:
Once the performance standards are established, this need to be
communicated to the respective employees so that they come to know what
is expected of them. Past experience indicates that not communicating
standards to the employees compounds the appraisal problem.
Here, it must be noted that mere transference of information (relating to
performance standards, for example) from the manager to the employees is

not communication It becomes communication only when the transference of
information has taken place and has been received and understood by the
employees.
The feedback from the employees on the standards communicated to
them must be obtained. If required, the standards may be modified or revised
in the light of feedback obtained from the employees. It is important to note
that communication is a two-way street.
3. Measure Actual Performance:
This is the third step involved in the appraisal process. In this stage, the
actual performance of the employee is measured on the basis of information
available from various sources such as personal observation, statistical
reports, oral reports, and written reports.
Needless to mention, the evaluators feelings should not influence the
performance measurement of the employee. Measurement must be objective
based on facts and findings. This is because what we measure is more
critical and important to the evaluation process than how we measure.
4. Compare Actual Performance with Standards:
In this stage, the actual performance is compared with the predetermined
standards. Such a comparison may reveal the deviation between standard
performance and actual performance and will enable the evaluator to
proceed to the fifth step in the process, i.e., the discussion of the appraisal
with the concerned employees.

5. Discuss the Appraisal with the Employee:


The fifth step in the appraisal process is to communicate to and discuss
with the employees the results of the appraisal. This is, in fact, one of the
most challenging tasks the managers face to present an accurate appraisal
to the employees and then make them accept the appraisal in a constructive
manner.
A discussion on appraisal enables employees to know their strengths and
weaknesses. This has, in turn, impact on their future performance. Yes, the
impact may be positive or negative depending upon how the appraisal is
presented and discussed with the employees.
6. Initiate Corrective Action:
The final step in the appraisal process is the initiation of corrective action
when it is necessary. The areas needing improvement are identified and
then, the measures to correct or improve the performance are identified and
initiated.
The corrective action can be of two types. One is immediate and deals
predominantly with symptoms. This action is often called as putting out
fires. The other is basic and delves into causes of deviations and seeks to
adjust the difference permanently.

This type of action involves time to analyse deviations. Hence, managers
often opt for the immediate action, or say, put out fires. Training, coaching,
counselling, etc. is the common examples of corrective actions that
managers initiate to improve the employee performance.
Here is a 360-degree appraisal involves feedback of the manager, supervisor,
team members and any direct reports. In this method of appraisal, employees
complete profile has to be collected and assessed. In addition to evaluating the
employees work performance and technical skill set, an appraiser collects an in-depth
feedback of the employee.
