Dear students and families,


Welcome to the exciting class of 7th grade world history. This class is an introductory course to world
history raging from Rome to Medieval Japan, China, Europe to civilizations like the meso-american,
african, arabic to the renaissance, reformation, and scientific revolution. Students will learn how these
different empire, civilizations, and people shaped the way we live today. History is important to learn
because it teaches us how we got to the marvelous world of today. This class covers a large portion of
history, so I need you to help keep your student in ready to learn shape.
Assignments/homework policy:
Homework will be assigned depending on the unit of study. There will be a lot of in class projects and
assignments. If students do not finish work in class it will be homework. I will send a mass email to all
the parents at the start of every unit to inform you of any important assignments and projects.
Late/missed work policy:
Late work will be accepted as long as it is before the end of a unit, after that late work will not be
accepted.

Materials needed to be history ready:


3 ring 1 inch binder with lined paper
5-7 dividers
Pencils/pens
Classroom expectations:
I have five rules in my classroom
o Be ready: come to class ready to learn and with any material needed for the day
o Be respectful: do not interrupt anyone while theyre speaking.
o Be productive: use your time wisely
o Be positive: You can do it!
My students are expected to know and follow these rules as soon as they step into the classroom.
Bathroom/water breaks:
Students are given time to use the restroom or get water between classes. If they need to go during class,
students will be given 3 passes per semester if they do not use the passes. They can be used as extra
credit.
Consequences:
Verbal warning, conference with student during lunch or before or after school, detention, parent contact
and/or adminstrator.

About me:
I received my History degree from Cal State Long beach. I have a husband who is currently serving in the United States
Marines and one dog who is a yorkie. I am a huge basketbal fan! I enjoy running, the beach, and any time where I can be
outside enjoying the enviroment.
I look forward to getting to know all my students and teaching them about world history and how the skills learned in class can
be translated into the real world.
