This dc converter is built with the CMOS version of 555 timer. You can get 12V
too if you change the zener diode to a 12V version.

I believe that it is possible and will attempt to come up with a circuit with

solar chargers

the extra comparator, it may be possible to add some voltage regulation.

Since 3 months I have been searching for dc to dc boost converter to power my laptop;
still i didnt found any. Could you please design it for me. i love
working/experimenting with electronic components.
input 12volts (car battery) to 19volts 3.24amps

output. (yes it is available in market but i wanna build my own to learn/know how
voltage is boosted )

thank u very much !

Good challenge! I have some ideas about how to do this. The main difficulty
is obtaining an affordable power inductor that is available globally.

12 to 19V converter: It is standard topology boost converter with series power
inductor, shunt switching MOSFET, schottky rectifier and output capacitor.
With this inductor: BOURNS JW MILLER 2306-H-RC TOROIDAL

INDUCTOR, 27UH, 15.6A, it will switch at about 14kHZ. Cost is US$2.66

(promo price) from Newark Electronics. Will also require high current low
ESR capacitor(s) on the output.

I have a means roughed out that will set current switching threshold and

inductor discharge detection. Looks promising. Now for voltage feedback

Here is another 1.5 4.5V to 9V converter is an excellent circuit and care must be taken
to ensure input voltage does not exceed 5V
