The Problem
Our nation, and the world at large, is in urgent need
of a new generation of leaders who bring a diversity
of experience and approach to craft innovative
solutions for the many problems faced by the planet
and those who inhabit it."
- Ken Olisa OBE, Founding Chairman - Powerlist
Foundation
The Solution
The Powerlist Foundation was created to provide
significant lifetime opportunities for young people with the
main focus of identifying, recruiting and developing
leaders for the future.
"Those leaders (our members) possess the educational
foundations, mental capacity, moral foundation,
confidence and humility required to inspire others to find
common cause and to strive for the improvement of
society at large."
- Ken Olisa OBE, Founding Chairman - Powerlist
Foundation

Our Vision
To be globally recognised as leading the way in
developing the next generation of leaders.
Diversifying Leadership
Traditionally society tends to search for its leaders in the same places. From the
same schools, the same networks and even the same families. However, history
has proven time and again that great leaders are found in all areas of society.
By ignoring leadership potential from various groups of young people, society is
wasting leadership potential and significantly reducing the likelihood of finding
the leaders the world will need tomorrow.
The Powerlist Foundation activity seeks out, identifies and supports young
people who show great promise in leadership from groups that are often over
looked. As a result we are helping to increase the leaders available to serve as
well as increasing the standards of leadership across the board.
Leaders from different backgrounds bring new ideas, new experience and new
understanding. Therefore by diversifying the leadership talent pool, everybody
wins.
Our Future
We have come a long way since our first leadership programme in
2011. That year we worked with 38 carefully selected young people
of African and Caribbean descent who demonstrated leadership
potential and experience socioeconomic disadvantages. We have
positively altered the lives of close to 300 young people aged 18-25
who are now members of the Powerlist Foundation network.
Our focus is on significantly scaling the reach and impact of our
leadership programme and activities. We plan to do this by
attracting new groups of university undergraduates and non
graduates from a wider range of universities, holding multiple
leadership programmes throughout the year and expanding our
work to other areas in the UK.
