National Board for Professional Teaching Standards

The NBPTS, requires nine important standards every world language teacher should accomplish, the table
above, displays those standards.
I would like to focus attention specifically on the Standard 1 and Standard 5.
Standard 1 & 5
Standard 1, focuses on how a teacher knows the abilities of their child and adolescent students. Teachers
who meet these standards pay close attention to their students and therefore develop their teaching
strategies in order to serve the unique and common needs of the students.

Standard 5 is Fair and Equitable Learning

Environment. This standard requires the
teacher to create an environment where the
student can feel the enthusiasm of the teacher
for what is being taught. Teachers who meet
this standard respect the individuality and
different cultures of those students in their
classrooms.

The Good News

The good news about all these standards is that
I will provide my students with everything that
is said to be needed in order to meet the
standards. My dedication to my students is so
high, that nothing would make me happier then
to make them feel like it was worth coming to
