REGISTRATION
Student registration fee is $20.00. This includes a participation trophy at the end of the year.

Family discount: 2 children $5.00 off, 3 children $7.00 off & 4 children $10 off. Any registered student who
brings in a new student will get $5.00 taken off the tuition bill for one month. This does not apply to immediate
family members.
Tuition is due on or before the 1st of each calendar month.
Tuition is non-refundable. Tuition is based on a 9-month class year (or approximately 36 weeks), and is
broken down into 9 monthly payments (September to May). The monthly fee remains the same regardless of
the number of classes in any given month. Most months have 4 classes, sometimes there will be 5. December
is a short month. There are no refunds given for missed classes, due to bad weather or other student
absences.
If the payment is received after the 7th of the month, there will be a $10.00 late charge.
The late fee will not be waived. You are responsible for making your payments on time regardless if your child
is absent, sick, on vacation or if studio is closed for holiday.
All accounts must provide an active credit or debit card to keep on file before registration is finalized. This will
NOT be charged unless you have a balance on your account after the 15th of each month! Tuition may be
paid by cash, check or PayPal by the 7th of each month. On the 15th, the card on file will be charged the
account balance, the late fee plus the card service charge. Please note any credit card that is declined will
automatically incur a $25.00 late fee. We do not sale or distribute your information.
Accounts 60 days delinquent will be charged a $25.00 delinquent fee in addition to any other accumulated late
fees. Dancers will not be allowed to participate in class if your account is more than 60 days past due.
All previously paid for items, such as recital and competition fees, will be forfeited, if you choose not to return
to the studio. All delinquent accounts will be turned over to a collection agency.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:
Checks or cash may be dropped off to the studio Office Manager (Laurie Brady). Change is not kept at the
studio, so if paying with cash please have the exact amount or your account will be credited the overage.

DANCE ATTIRE:
Ballet- black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes
Jazz/Lyrical- all black dance clothes, half shoes
Hip Hop- anything but jeans, tennis shoes
Warm-up clothes are permitted, but must be taken off when the dancer is warm.

HAIR:
Hair needs to be tied back securely during class.
A neat appearance helps your child feel like a dancer, and realize that dance class time is special. Loose hair
is distracting to both dancer and teacher. Please place extra ponytail holders in your dancers bag. If a
dancers hair is too short, please have them use a head band. Faculty is not responsible for fixing your childs
hair.

SHOES: All shoes must be purchased through JDS


Dancers are required to wear the proper shoes to each class.
Dance shoes should be worn inside only. Wearing dance shoes outside will ruin the shoe and bring in dirt
to the dance floor. Please put your dancers name in their shoes as its easy to get them mixed up.

PARENT OBSERVATION:
There will be one observation week in the Winter. Exact date will be given later, please mark your calendars
for this week.
It is important to monitor your childrens progress and see the instructors interact with the dancers.
Observation weeks are not necessarily typical classes at Just Dance. Please keep in mind that dancers are
very excited and can be easily distracted having guests watch through the windows. Instructors have to work
extra hard during these weeks to make sure the class stays as structured as a class held outside observation
week. The staff appreciates your understanding.
Gossiping about other children or teachers is not tolerated at Just Dance, and if it is heard, you will be
asked to leave.
Parent Observation weeks are very exciting, but to make it an enjoyable experience for all, please be
respectful of others. It is extremely helpful to the instructor to keep voices down during observation week or
any other classes. Noise does travel into the dance rooms and the dancers feed off the energy outside of the
door.

PRACTICE VIDEOS:
Teachers will be posting these in each teams Face Book groups frequently.

STUDIO CLOSINGS: (Please mark your calendars!)


In the event of inclement weather, please check your class/team Facebook group.
If Granite School District is closed due to weather, so is the studio.

COSTUMES

RECITAL
Our Spring Recital will be held at the end of May.
Recital fee includes props, auditorium rental, programs, trophies, scenery and all staff for rehearsal and recital.
Spring Recital fee is $30.00 for one dancer, $45.00 for two dancers, and $55.00 for three dancers & $65.00 for
four dancers. Admission to the show is $3.00, children 3 & under are free.

All costumes are ordered by December 1 . This is a big job and we cannot order a costume for your child
unless we have received your costume payment.

COMPETITIONS
All teams will compete in 4 competitions in March, April & May.
Please refer to the price breakdown sheet for your competition fee. Due January 1 st.
Participation in competition is mandatory. If you miss a competition unexcused, you will be removed from the
team and will not be able to tryout again the next year.
Dates are not known at this time, we will get them to you as soon as we can. Times will be sent out the week
of competitions.

ATTENDANCE / ABSENCES:
Attendance is taken at each class. It is very important for everyone to be in class every week. Good
attendance is very important to each dancers success, as well as the progress of the class as a whole. When
a teacher must go back for a student who has missed material, it is unfair to the rest of the class. Please
make every effort to have your child at class each week. If for any reason your child can not attend, please
call, text or email to let us know. There is absolutely no missing class the week before competition or your child
will not be able to perform. If for any reason your child misses a competition unexcused, they will be removed
from the team and will not be allowed to tryout again the next year.
Three unexcused absences will result in dismissal from the team.
Missing classes is inevitable, but excessive absences can become a problem. If a dancer is struggling and the
instructor feels it is necessary, a private lesson may be required to help the dancer with any missed material.
A trophy will be awarded for perfect attendance.

SICKNESS / INJURY:
In the event of a dancer falling ill, please keep them home from class in order to reduce the chance of
spreading the illness. An absence due to an illness may be excused with a Doctors note (no more than 3) and
funerals are excused as well. If a dancer is injured they are encouraged to observe class and take notes.

CLASS PLACEMENT:
All placement decisions are made with each students best interest at heart and are based on class
participation & discipline, attendance, progress, ability, attitude & work ethic, performance and consistency.
Dancers usually stay on a team for numerous years before moving to another team. This is common and
nothing to worry about. It doesnt mean your child has not grown as a dancer. Each student learns at a
different rate of speed. Sometimes students need to remain at one level longer in order to be ready to move to
the next level. If a student is placed in a level inappropriate to their working ability, eventually the student will
lose interest in dance. Class should be challenging and fun not too hard or too easy. We carefully evaluate
each dancer and make individual decisions for each team member. Be happy for your dancer and the other
dancers. Not everyone will be placed together. Always try to keep a positive outlook! Your child will react
how you react. Children often follow in your footsteps, beware of the message you are sending to them.
Dancers are not placed because of friendships or how long they have been dancing. They are being placed
strictly by the level of technique that they demonstrate on a weekly basis. A child is placed in a class where
he/she will feel confident in order to promote the highest level of self-esteem.
Please trust the staffs years of experience in the decision for class placement. We are professionals and
always act in the best interest of the dancer. Dancers progress at different levels and advancing a dancer
before they are ready can create stress, a loss of interest and discouragement.

DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP:


Dancers are not allowed to stand outside the building waiting for a ride!
Small children need to be escorted to and from the studio. Please do not encourage your dancer to find you
out in the parking lot. Never leave your dancer unattended in any part of the studio at any time, other than the
scheduled class time.
All traffic from the studio needs to come through the main lobby. Please enter and exit the far end of the
building by the reception area only. The double doors need to remain locked and closed except in an extreme
emergency. This is for your childs protection!
Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early to class!
The studio will be considered open 5-10 minutes before the first class of the day. The door will remained
locked until that time. During the first few weeks of class we may offer earlier hours to accommodate those
who need assistance.
Please remember, Just Dance is not a daycare. We do not want to be responsible for dancers that arrive too
early or are not picked up on time. If you have arrived early, you must wait with your child until it is time to start
class.
Dance rooms will remain closed until the instructor opens the door to enter. Teachers come in early to prepare
for class. Please do not open the doors until the instructor is ready.

CHANGING OR TERMINATING CLASSES


If you would like to change classes, add or remove a class, or completely terminate dance classes, an Add /
Drop slip must be filled out by a parent. In order to be removed from financial obligation, we must receive your
intentions to stop classes in writing at the start of the month you wish to stop. Add / Drop slips are available at
the front desk. If you are adding or dropping a class, a staff signature is required.
Just Dance reserves the right to terminate any dancers participation, or refuse admittance due to actions,
distractions or becomes a detriment to the program. Just Dance reserves the right to refuse any services to
dancers with an outstanding balance. Any balance owed must be paid in the event of termination by either
Just Dance Studio or the Customer.

E-Mail:
Just Dance e-mails all paperwork! This reduces paper, misplaced items and allows parents to store all
important documents on their computer. Email allows the staff at Just Dance to keep you informed of
important dates and new information. We do not sell or distribute addresses. Please let us know if you are
not receiving our emails. .

KEEPING YOU INFORMED:


All schedules and important information is posted online at www.just-dance-studio.com
Please come in from time to time to check our bulletin board and calendar on the wall. We are constantly
posting new information for you. Any time a note goes home, we will also post one on the board!
If you are unsure about any times, dates or places of any up-coming events just check the board in the
lobby.
It is your responsibility to keep informed of all dates.
Please take the time to read the emails & papers that come home. Mark your calendar for all important
meetings, rehearsal and payment dates. Staff members often get blamed by upset parents about late fees or
dancers not knowing information. All of this information is placed in your folder, emailed directly to the parents
& posted on the bulletin board. Just Dance works very hard to keep you informed and provide plenty of
advance notice about important dates. As the season progresses, additional information will be posted, sent
home or emailed.
We post a lot on our Face book, Instagram & Twitter accounts. If you do not have a Face book, we suggest
maybe creating one just for this purpose!
