Hospital Description
R.de. C. Galvez Medical Center is a secondary hospital with 60 bed capacity
equipped with hospital information system and consisting of Emergency Rooms,
Outpatient clinics, dental Clinic, Radiology Department: X-ray and CT scan, Laboratory,
Dialysis units, Pharmacy, Ward Rooms, Regular rooms, Suite rooms, Intensive care unit,
Delivery room and Operating rooms.
Principal Duties:

Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patient based on the application of
scientific nursing principles.
Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and then consults and
coordinates with other healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and
evaluate patient care plans.
Perform triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements.
Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until the attending physician is
available, based upon nursing standards and protocols.
Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows
adverse symptomatology.
Records patients current vital signs.
Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing and
treatments.
Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed
medications.
Provides IV therapy.
Has overall administrative charge and responsibility for optimal quality nursing care in the
ICU and ER ensuring that the services reflects the hospital philosophy of care.
Makes the necessary requisitions for the replenishment of consumable items and submits
formal communication to the designated department in case of malfunctioning of
equipment and defective instrument in the unit.
Maintains up-to-date record of all drugs, I.V. fluids, etc as required by the pharmacy, and
ensures that the rules and regulations governing the administration, storage and custody
of all drugs, particularly controlled drugs and narcotics are strictly observed at all times.]
Coordinates and monitors activities of all staff in the delivery of patient care.

Ensures that all staff knows and understand and follow department policies and
procedures concerning CPR, Fire disaster and safety and are familiar with the use and
functions of all department equipments. .
Administer all nursing services provided and ensure compliance to all joint commission
guidelines and participate in various committees and manage all communication with staff
and associate ancillary departments.
Organize and schedule all committee meetings and maintain efficient schedule for all
nursing activities and ensure achievement of all facility and resident requirements.
Prepare schedule for all shifts and ensure no overlapping and oversee all nursing facility
according to hospital
policies and manage all resources for same.
Monitor all patient care activities and ensure adherence to all hospital policies to satisfy all
patient requirement and evaluate all assignments for members of shifts and maintain all
policies and procedures for nursing unit.
Coordinate with shift head nurse to organize all nursing staff meetings same and ensure
compliance to all objectives.
