Luis Alfredo Baena - Working in the Public Health Industry

As a former public health official, Luis Alfredo Baena knows what it is like to combat common public
health issues in Bogot his home country. He is an experienced medical doctor, who was the
Secretary of Public Health for the Colombian government for two years. This was right after he
earned his medical and political science degrees. Then he became the Welfare Commissioner for the
government.
Baena started his post-secondary education at Texas A&M University, in Kingsville, Texas, studying
Pre-Med and Chemical engineering. Then moving onto the Universidad Militar Nueva Granada in
Bogot, Colombia, focusing on Medicine and Surgery. Finally rounding out his education with a
Masters in Political Science at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogot, Colombia.
