Morning Announcements: Good Morning Class. Today we will be continuing through our booklets as a class for
the first part and you will be given time to continue on further yourselves as well. During this time I would ask
that everyone follows where I am working through the book to ensure that you have the correct answers.
Remember, this booklet will become your study guide.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students will:
1. Continue working on the Metis booklets which have been handed out.
2. Think and work logically through the different requirements involved with project.
3. Students will understand that there are many components involved in native american history.

ASSESSMENTS
Observations: Formative assessment through
observation will take place throughout lesson.
Students will be redirected back on track if they get
off topic.

Key Questions: Who were the Metis and why are important in
Canadian history?

Written/Performance Assessments: Anecdotal notes will be made throughout the lesson about students work ethic
and time spent on topic.

PROCEDURE
Introduction (4 min.):
Expectations for Learning and Behaviour: Students are expected to come with any necessary tools for working on their
projects. They are expected to be on task and working well.
Advance Organizer/Agenda: Students will use the entirety of this class to work on their projects. Folders will be
handed out to the class. Quick reminder of expectations will be done at the start of class.

Body (40 min.):


Learning Activity #1: Review what we went over yesterday in class: We will take some time at the beginning of the
lesson to review the terminology and new information from the previous class.
Learning Activity #2: Students will have a majority of the class time to work through their Metis booklets and
hopefully get through the better part of them. We will begin as a class and then continue as individuals after. If
students have any questions all they need to do is lift their hands and I will come quickly to answer their questions!
Assessments/Differentiation: Formative assessment will be used throughout the course of this class. I will be continuously checking
in with each group to ensure that students are on task and working diligently.

Closure ( 4 min.):
Consolidation/Assessment of Learning: Throughout the lesson I will be checking in with groups individually to ensure
that they understand the tasks and are creating quality work. Anecdotal notes may be taken if anything is necessary to
record.

checking in with each group to ensure that students are on task and working diligently. Any questions or comments are
welcome during this time.
