SUMMARY
Eurasia Foundation is seeking a communications intern
to contribute to our outreach efforts among targeted
audiences and the general public.
The intern will report to the senior communications
officer and work closely with programmatic and
program development teams, providing social media,
editorial, publication, and administrative support and
assisting with special projects and events. The position
requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours a week.

DUTIES
Support the development and management of
communications materials from idea to completion
through research, writing, editing, and proofreading
content in order to reach key audiences, including
newsletters, feature stories, fact sheets, videos, annual
report, and project documentation such as
presentations and reports, and web copy.
Build relationships with program staff and audiences to
identify and develop regular, compelling storytelling

content to help demonstrate programs progress and


success through local and international channels
including blog, social media, newsletter, and web
content.
Help to manage external vendors and consulting
contracts for variety of communications services,
including graphic design, video production, and
writer/editors.
Contribute to the development and implementation of
outreach strategies for major milestones, including
social media, publications, and video
Seek opportunities, priority events, and platforms to
reach target
audiences and stakeholders in relevant thematic areas
Measure and track communications analytics for social
media,
newsletters, and website;
Support the planning and execution of EFs large-scale
public events,
including media outreach
Help coordinate events for EFs Young Professionals
Network
Monitor news outlets and partners for relevant regional
news and events

Assist with proposal development, including formatting,


editing and research tasks, as needed
Perform general administrative work, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree required
Communications background, preferably with a focus
on digital media and marketing, required
Social media campaign experience and sound social
media judgment required
International and/or nonprofit experience preferred
Excellent written, verbal, research, and organizational
skills required
Editorial experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with AP Style a plus
Strong computer proficiency and experience using MS
Office required
Preferred technical skills: HMTL, Drupal, Adobe Creative
Cloud
(particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), video
production and editing
Must be a self-starter and comfortable managing
multiple projects with strong attention to detail
Familiarity with the countries of the former Soviet Union
and/or the Middle East and North Africa and knowledge

of Russian and/or Arabic language are strongly


preferred
Demonstrated interest in international development
and desire to
develop a career with an international non-profit a plus
