organization. Lisa was a student in my Interpreting III class at Austin Community College in the
fall of 2016. It was a joy to have Lisa in class, and I could clearly see she was a dedicated student
who took the work of interpreting seriously. She was a thoughtful contributor to class
discussions that required critical thinking and analysis, and through her comments often helped
the class as a whole come to a greater understanding of the issues that interpreters face. She
consistently displayed a willingness to push the boundaries of her own comfort zone in the
pursuit of learning.
