Naushawng Education Network (NSEN)


Naushawng Education Network is an independent and non-profit educational
organization founded on April 9th 2009 by Kachin scholars who are committed
to work for strengthening democratic transition and community development in
north and north-east Myanmar. NAUSHAWNG aims to contribute to the
democratic transition, peace building and sustainable development in Myanmar
through training, education, research, advocacy and networking.
Objectives of the Assignment
This engagement is a full time appointment for Naushawng Education Network
(NSEN) in the Research and Development Department (RDD)

Main role and responsibilities:


Design and implement Research Projects, quantitative and/or
qualitative
Design questionnaires
Apply a range of research techniques to gather relevant information,
including document analysis, surveys, case studies and interviews
(face-to-face, telephone and online)
Develop and test theories
Liaise with and direct social research field interviewers/enumerator to
gather information.

Gather information by directing or carrying out fieldwork;


Data analyzing and writing, evaluate research and interpret data.
Prepare, present and disseminate results, for example as a verbal
presentation and in a written report;
Offer research-based briefings and advice, which may involve writing
action plans for research department.
Prepare and present tenders for new research projects.
Teaching social research methods including research proposal writing
to the students of Naushawng Community School.
Advice and support students to convey their own research and
supervise the students research works
Asses and mark the research results

Expected Qualification and Experiences


Should hold a master degree preferable in social science
Experience in quantitative and qualitative methodologies and research
techniques
Numeracy and confidence in using statistical techniques and
computer-based programs
Strong analytical and report-writing
Project management skills
A flexible approach to work on several different research projects at
the same time
Organizing skills, including time management and the ability to work
under pressure and to deadlines
Good attitude and ability to take initiative in work
Excellent interpersonal, team working and communication skills
