Reflection on Second Observation Feedback from MCT.


Lesson: Estimation the division with two-digits (lesson 7).
Regards the second lesson, my college mentor observed me and gives me a detailed
feedback on my performance in class. I feel positive after the class ends because I did
everything that I need to do in the class with students. I finished all the activities and
rewards with students which make me feel comfortable and I achieved my goal of the lesson.

In terms of planning for learning section on my feedback, the evaluation that I get
makes me feel I am achievable and measureable about the learning objective. I can see that I
put up details in my lesson plan about activities when I put pictures and descriptions (figure 1). I
think this could help me and the reader to get the concept clearly.

Regarding managing learning category, I can see that I am improved from the previous
lesson to this lesson. The reason is that because I add more things to my classroom

management. I feel that the bracelets awards and classroom rules let students be punctual.
However, I did not forget to remind them about the rules which let me feel open with students
for the whole lesson and feasible works will be done.

Implementing learning section took both aspects this time which will helps me next time
to do better in this part. For instance, I need to show students they need to decide if they round
or estimate the numbers. I am with this perspective suggestion because I did not tell students
exactly and I did not direct them. I tell them to read the instructions card and follow up the toys
by counting them to get the result or the answer (figure 2).
Reviewing is a good point which I feel it was work well with them to begin new lesson.
For example, I reviewed estimating with one-digit to start with estimation with two-digits.

Assessing students about the math concept is what I can find it fun to do and my
creativity shows. In this segment, I did use variety of questions and activities which are
encourage me in my strengths. However, when one student answers the question rapidly than
others, I give him the opportunity to complete when I said true! for him. But, I did not
recognize that others will not think about the question again until I notice it in the class more
than one time. Next time, I will ignore students who are answering before other students first.
If it does not work, I will positively manage him by taking one point of his reward card.

Finally, I can see my progression in reflection on practice part. I feel in this lesson I did
great work and better than the previous lesson which I learnt from it by practicing everything
will get better and better. I hope that next time my experience be more effective because in
this experience I critically think about solutions to improve the last lesson to this lesson.
