Multi-Camera Production Roles
You will be producing 3-4 interviews during your chat show. For each interview state who will
be doing which role. You must do EVERY role once during the show.

TASK 1: Define each of the following roles
Interviewer
Describe their job Reference your research
An interviewer will ask the interviewee questions about their field of work or personal
life.
For example, if a celebrity was being interviewed generally the interviewer would ask
quite invasive funny questions about their personal life that we may not see.
In this case when interviewing we will be asking the artist about their field of work in
producing an EP and their goals etc
Which part of the studio do they work in? (ie control room, studio floor)
The interviewer will work on the studio floor as generally they will be the host of a chat
show in which they invite guests on to be interviewed.
An example of this is The Jimmy Fallon Show which is a famous American comedy
chat show.
What skills do they need to do their job well?
Generally, the hosts have to be very talkative and have good people skills.
As they are the main feature to the show they generally have to be likeable or people
wont want to watch them.
Director
Describe their job - Reference your research
Directors are generally the backbone to a production.
They are the ones that put things into action and guide people in what they are
doing.
Which part of the studio do they work in? (ie control room, studio floor)
They will be working in the control room to make sure that everything is running
smoothly when live and re-directing people if they are unsure.
Camera Person
Describe their job - Reference your research
A camera person is the one in control of capturing the production.
Their job is to capture whats going on in front of them in a clear and professional way

They will work in the control room as it behind the production.
Sound Mixing
Describe their job - Reference your research
Sound mixers are responsible for recording the audio clearly and well.
Which part of the studio do they work in? (ie control room, studio floor)
Sound mixers will be working in the control room next to the cameras.
Vision Mixing
Describe their job - Reference your research
Vision mixers are in charge of the live editing as the show Is being broadcasted. (Vision

the edits are running smoothly.

Graphics Generator
Describe their job - Reference your research
Graphics generators are the once that organise the green screens and the visuals that go
on behind the person.
They will also deal with the opening and closing credits.

They will work in the control room.
What skills do they need to do their job well?
To have good hearing and be able to edit sound live and be good at decision making.
Lighting Desk
Describe their job - Reference your research
They control the lighting that goes on while the show is live.

They will be working in the control room.
Floor Manager
Describe their job - Reference your research
Floor manager is the one that controls what everyone is doing and designates jobs to
everyone taking part.

They will be working in the control room behind the camera.

1. Camera one will be a close up shot of the person sat on the left sofa
2. Camera two will be a shot of everyone (will include both cameras and will be zoomed in/
out depending on how many people need to be in shot)

4. Camera four will be a close up on the other person sat on the right sofa (only used in
segment 1)

Set Design

show conversation
4. Camera four will be a close up camera of either of the people on the right hand
sofa. The camera person can zoom this camera depending on whats happening
on screen.
5. Camera five will be of all people on the right hand sofa. It will be a long shot
and can be used to show conversations between contestants.

Segment 1
Lucy- Hello, and welcome to Note 4 Note. The latest in the music industry.
Justin Bieber is being sued for allegedly spitting at the neighbour whose house
he egged in 2014.
The singer previously pleaded no contest to vandalism charges after throwing
eggs at Jeffrey Schwarz's home.
Darcey- But Schwarz is now pressing ahead with a bid for compensation over
another alleged row.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Schwarz claims the singer assaulted him
and caused emotional distress after spitting at him during an argument.
He also wants to grill Bieber's bodyguard Michael Arana about the row.
Lucy - In July, the singer demanded Schwarz and his wife Suzanne undergo a
mental evaluation to prove they're still battling psychological issues as a
result of the incident two years ago.
Darcey- The couple - who claimed in their previous lawsuit the singer had
subjected them to the consequences of loud parties and drug use - have claimed
they are still battling with headaches and insomnia following the incident,
despite the pop star moving out of the area.
Lucy- After pleading no contest to misdemanour vandalism in the original
incident, Bieber was placed on probation and told to carry out five days of
community service at ahomeless shelter.
Darcey- He also had to pay an estimated $80,000 (47,227) in damages to his
neighbours and undergo anger management counselling.
Lucy- In other news, Bastille have just released their new album All this Bad
Blood. The album is a rerelease of their 2013 album Bad Blood
Darcey- All this bsd blood is a 2CD deluxe album that features new tracks and
some covers. Frontman Dan Smith described the albumas a complete
representation of what we have done so far and what wed done so far.
Lucy- The release will be preceded by new single Of The Nighton the 25
Noveber.
