English hamlet essay 2012.

Hamlet madness is a point of fascination for the audience, I will agree that
hamlets madness is put on for the most part. Hamlet behaviour while
under this assumed madness keeps the audience enthralled.
(Initial part of essay to discuss Hamlets assumed madness in order to
achieve his ends killing Claudius and avenging his fathers murder.
Second part of essay deal with Hamlets melancholy and grief stricken
behaviour. Try do each paragraph in PQE style. Write conclusion)
After Hamlet, has spoken to the ghost he warns Horatio that going forward
he may act in a strange or odd manner. how strange or odd some er I
bear myself as I perchance hereafter shall think meet to put an antic
deposition onHoratio is not to acknowledge that he knew Hamlet would
act peculiarly following meeting the ghost. We, the audience, know that
Hamlet will seek revenge for his fathers murder. This assumed madness
will provide Hamlet with the protection to commit this awful deed.
In act 2 scene 2, Hamlet Is speaking to Rosencrantz and Guilderstern, he
acts very weird around them and says I am but mad north-north-west.
When the wind is southerly I know a hawk from a handsaw he talks to
them in a way to make them feel like he mad because he now there only
here to spy on him for the king.

In Act 3 scene 1 Guilderstern reporting to Claudius on Hamlets madness.

In Act 3 scene 4, in this scene when Hamlet mentally and physically

attacks his mother and also ends up killing Polonius is her chamber. That I
essentially am not in madness, but mad in craft hes coming out to his
mother saying hes not really mad.

Hamlets meloncoly in act 1 scene 2 shows that hes crazy in a different

way he feel depressed and wants to kill himself over the grifting of his
father. Oh that this too too sold flesh would melt[

In Act 2 scene 1, in this scene Hamlett comes into Ophelias room with his
clothes around his ankles crying and scaring Ophelia Lord hamlet, with
his doublet all unbraced Ophelia then tells her father and bans Hamlet
from seeing her.

In Act 3 scene 1 this is one of the most famous quotes from Hamlet, in this
sence he is contemplating deat once again and says the famous line of To
be or not to be that is the question

In Act 5 scene 1, this is when Hamlet has come back from England and he
comes across a funeral he later finds out that was Ophelia and he
proclaims his love for her I loved Ophelia forty thousand brothers, Could
not with all their quantity of love Make up my sum
So from doing this question I feel Hamlets madness trick works in the
beginning but towards the end of the play be actually becomes a little
mad with all the events all happened. He dies a mad man I think.
