Professional Goals
Goal #1: Increase student motivation towards physical activity.
Implement differentiated techniques and strategies for all levels of
fitness and athletic abilities in my classroom.
Descriptors of Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Related;
(e)- all students can learn, albeit at different rates and in different
ways. They know how (including when and how to engage others) to
identify students different learning styles and ways students learn.
They understand the need to respond to differences by creating
multiple paths to learning for individuals and groups of students,
including students with special learning needs.
(i)- there are many approaches to teaching and learning. They know a
broad range of instructional strategies appropriate to their area of
specialization and the subject discipline they teach, and know what
strategies are appropriate to help different students achieve different
outcomes.
Goal #2: Continue to develop my individual teaching style and
presence in the classroom. Improve classroom management skills by
being flexible and understanding students needs.
Descriptors of Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Related:
(g) students needs for physical, social, cultural and psychological
security. They know how to engage students in creating effective
classroom routines. They know how and when to apply a variety of
management strategies that are in keeping with the situation, and that
provide for minimal disruptions to students learning;
(h) the importance of respecting students human dignity. They know

how to establish, with different students, professional relationships


that are characterized by mutual respect, trust and harmony;
Strategies

Strategies for addressing Goal #1:


o Start beginner athletes with strategies and activities that
boost their confidence level. Implement individualized
challenges according to student progress.
o Differentiate activities and resources for all athletic
abilities.
o Implement engaging activities and strategies to increase
motivation towards being active and participating in
physical activity.

Strategies for addressing Goal #2:


o Being flexible to the type of lesson that is being taught.
Management may look different according to the type of
lesson being delivered.
o Read relevant literature on classroom management
techniques.
o Use language parallel to school themes.

Indicators of Progress Towards Goals


Indicators of Progress for Goal #1: Student participation will increase
within physical education. Students grades within the class will also
increase. Students will come to class eager and excited to participate
in the days activities.
Indicators of Progress for Goal #2: Lessons being taught will flow
easier and students will act in a respectful manner to teacher. Evidence
of student growth will be shown due to effective classroom
management.

Timeline for Completion


Goal #1: Work at students individual pace. Check for improvement of
skills every three weeks.
Goal #2: Ongoing. Once a week read relevant literature.
