To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to recommend Ms. Karen Hatch to you for employment as a new graduate registered
nurse. I am a Clinical Nursing Instructor in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program at the University of
Arizona and I was one of Ms. Hatchs clinical instructors during her high acuity rotation in both the
Medical Surgical Units and Critical Care Units at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona.
Throughout her clinical rotation, she demonstrated her professionalism and ability to care for patients
and their families almost independently.
Ms. Hatch is a dedicated and motivated student and her strengths include teamwork and
communication with patients, their families and the staff that she worked with. She has demonstrated
the delivery of compassionate, competent nursing care. In addition, she eagerly accepts challenging
situations, works conscientiously, and is self-directed. She fully accepts the responsibility of advocating
on behalf of patients and their families. She was able to gather relevant information seamlessly and
incorporate it into her plan of care with patients. During her clinical rotation, Ms. Hatch proved time and
again her diligence, flexibility, and the continuing development and progression of her critical thinking
skills. Ms. Hatch has been able to succeed and thrive in her nursing program, I believe due to her
personal drive to make a difference for her patients and for all those that she comes in contact with.
I support Ms. Hatchs application for employment as a nurse in her area of interest, as I believe she will
be an asset to not only her employer, but also the nursing profession. She is a bright, knowledgeable
student who is willing to work hard to meet her goals and she will continue to do so as her nursing
career advances. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions regarding her qualifications.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Spinks, RN MSN
