As we begin the season

of Advent it is a time to
prepare ourselves for the
coming of our Messiah.
Advent means Coming."
We celebrate these days of
Advent in expectation and
preparation for Christ's
arrival.
The Advent season is a
time for reflection and
preparation. It proclaims
the revelation of God's love
as expressed in Christ's
birth in a humble stable,
His sacrificial death on the
cross, and His victorious
resurrection! It points to

Rev. April Wegehaupt

the hope of Christ's

coming again as the King
of Kings and Lord of
Lords. Advent makes innkeepers out of all of us,
asking each of us to make
room for the arrival of
Christ in our hearts. Let
us, this season, prepare
Him room in our hearts,
our lives, and our homes!
Let us all remember
that the greatest Gift of
Christmas is the Gift of
God in Christ Jesus. May
all that we do during this
Holy Season point to the
expression of Holy

Love. Christ came as a

babe in Bethlehem, God's
gift at Christmas. As
Christians we seek to
pass on our heritage to
our children and to those
who, by faith in Christ,
become part of the Family
of God. It is up to all of us
that the true Gift of
Christmas goes on to
those who will come after
us.
Blessings,
Rev. April

Q Christmas Offering R

This Mission continues to well-serve the 120,000 persons in 90 villages living in the
remote area of northern Honduras. Financial support is necessary for the Mission to
provide a wide variety of medical services in addition to providing protein-enriched
foods through the Agriculture Program to improve the over-all health of the people
and to assist in providing school supplies, lunches, uniforms and salary support for
one elementary school teacher for the near-by school in Buenos Aires.
WE ARE CALLED TO SERVE THE POOR AND NEEDY. GIVE GENEROUSLY THIS CHRISTMAS!

A Word From our Young Ministries Director

Demian Wegehaupt

MAKING DISCIPLES...CHANGING THE WORLD

Hello and God bless to all the children of God. This month is going to
have a few more events than normal being that we have Christmas
coming. On Dec 18th the youngest of our flock will be doing their
Christmas pageant, so that means we will be having our ONE and
ONLY practice the Friday before. I would like to have any and all kids
participate and maybe even a few parents if at all possible. Jr. High &
Sr. High youth are invited to a LOCK-IN on December 31st. This will be
a fun and safe event for kids who dont want spend new years eve with
their parents, this lock-in is going to be a blast.
A look back at last month the youth group has been doing great with
the KICS and also with the numbers growing in the Sunday school classes. KICS youth attended the Bishops Round up and helped prepare
over 10,000 meals for the stop hunger movement. After that the
kids enjoyed a fun lock-in with seven other church youth groups. The
next morning the kids went to the Douglas CO fair grounds and helped
unload and the reload boxes of supplies for the bishops round up.
As we move on with the year we will be having more events and
outreach events happening. If you see any of the KICS kids please let
them know how well they are doing and how much of a difference they
are making. Take care and God bless. See you next month.

The Pageant will be

presented during a
Combined Worship service.
A PRACTICE WILL BE HELD ON
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16TH FROM 57PM
PIZZA WILL BE PROVIDED!
FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT DEMIAN WEGEHAUPT @ 212212-6755.

FUMC,
I wanted to say thank
you for the scholarship I
have received. It is a
huge help! I am able to
buy books and pay my
nursing fees with the
money. It really is a huge
help with some college expenses! I am in
my senior year of the
nursing program at
Pittsburg State. I love it!
I plan to go to the Kansas
City area to work in the
ICU when I graduate.
Thanks again!

Dear FUMC,
Thank you so much for
awarding me this scholarship. It means a lot to me
knowing that I have the
support of my church, not
only financially, but also
spiritually as I know I am
being kept in your prayers. I am working my
hardest to achieve the
best grades and learn as
much as possible
throughout my years here
as to honor God. Thank
you again for all of the
love and support you
have given me throughout the years. I would not
be the woman I am today
without my wonderful
church family.
Much Love,
Rebecca Wendt

How to become a member....
You are welcome to attend worship services, member or not. For

activity of the church and are

member is, in faith, saying you
want a deeper commitment to the
church. Our vows ask us to faithfully participate in the life of the
church with our prayers, our
presence, our gifts, our service
and our witness.
We hope you will be a part of
the ministry of the First United
Methodist Church. If you would
like to become a member, please
give us: Name(s), address, phone
number, e-mail address, anniversaries, birthdays and if you are
already a member of some other
church or not. If you are, we also
need the name of the church and,
if possible, the address. Please
give this to the pastor, or leave in
