Pressure distribution over an aerofoil

Aim
(i) To measure the Coefficient of pressure distribution and (ii) To find the
Coefficient of lift.
Apparatus
Wind tunnel
Aerofoil- MH70
Pressure transducer- DSA3217
Data acquisition software- DSAlink
Theory
I.

By definition of Coefficient of pressure,

Where,
V free-stream velocity of fluid
P0 total pressure from settling chamber
P free-stream pressure from inlet section
P Pressure at a point on the circular cylinder surface
Density of fluid
x Distance of pressure port from leading edge
Cpl Cp lower surface
Cpu Cp upper surface
c Chord length
Angle of attack
Procedure
1. Find x/c value.
2. Fix the aerofoil in the wind tunnel to desired angle of attack.
3. Set the flow regulator to desired RPM.
4. Take the pressure measurements using DSA3217.
5. Plot graphs for Cp Vs x/c.
6. Plot CL Vs .
