I'll See It When I Believe It

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders
obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so
that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible" (Hebrews 11:1-3).
Many people are confused about the things of God. They worry and fret about creation, death, eternal
life, heaven, and hell. And it's not uncommon for me to get letters asking these two questions: "How can
I understand God and the Bible? How can I know what to believe?"
The answer I always give is "Just believe what God says, by faith." In other words, accept the Holy Bible
as the Word of God, read it and believe it. Then, base all your decisions and all your trust on what God's
Word says. That's called "walking by faith" (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Walking by faith is not always easy. The reason is because many people have become accustomed to
walking by sight. Here's what I mean. When we pray and ask God to meet a need in our lives that is clearly
promised in His Word, we must believe that God has already met that need. We must believe that God's
Word is true and that He has actually done what He said He would do.
Jesus said in Mark 11:24, "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that
you receive them, and you will have them."
Jesus did not say that we are to believe that we have received when we see results. He said that we are
to believe that we have received what we have petitioned when we pray. That's praying in faith. We
pray, then we believe God so much, we trust His promises so strongly, that we trust that He has already
accomplished our request. From that point on, once we have prayed in faith, we thank Him for meeting
our need.
One time, a man told me he couldn't thank God for meeting his needs, because his needs had not been
met. I asked him if he had prayed and asked God to meet his needs. He said "Yes, I know that God will
meet my needs, but I won't really believe it until I see it."
Waiting to believe when you receive is not faith. Faith believes God regardless of the way things look. As
Christians, we are to walk by faith and not by sight. If the circumstances say one thing and God's Word
says another, we must believe God. God does not lie. You can always depend on Him. He will never let
you down. He will always do what He said He would do. And according to His own words, we will receive
from Him when we believe Him.
In James 1, the Bible tells us that when we pray, we must believe that God will answer our petitions.
"Let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by
the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord" (James 1:6,7).
According to this passage, when we pray, if we don't believe, we won't receive.
The world says, "I'll believe it when I see it."
The Word says, "I'll see it when I believe it."
Remember, Jesus told us in Mark 11:24, "Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive
them, and you will have them."
Satan's Words Have No Power
Man was created as a speaking spirit in the image and in the likeness of God. Man was created to look
like God and to act like God. No other creation was created in His image and likeness - only man.

1|Page

God is a three-part being. The Bible tells us in 1 John 5:7 that "The Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit,
these three are one." Jesus said, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:9), and "I and My
Father are one" (John 10:30). Man is a three-part being. He is spirit, soul, and body (1 Thessalonians
5:23). So God is a three-part being, man is a three-part being, and man was created in the image and
likeness of God.
Ephesians 5:1 says that we are to act like God. While we are not God and will never be God, God did
create us in His image and likeness, so obviously, He wants us not only to look like Him, but to act like
Him. Simply put, God wants us to love what He loves and to dislike what He dislikes. And we also must
remember that God has not changed and does not change.
The Bible tells us in the Old Testament that God the Father does not change and in the New
Testament, Hebrews 13:8 tells us that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." So we can
say with confidence that the things God liked 5,000 years ago, He liked 2,000 years ago at the time of
Jesus and He still likes them today. Likewise, the things God disliked and spoke against 5,000 years ago,
He disliked and spoke against at the time of Jesus and He still dislikes and speaks against them today.
God is not politically correct, nor does God's plan change with society.
God created man as a speaking spirit so that we would have the authority to speak His Word on the earth
and take authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). The life you are living today was framed
by the words that you spoke yesterday. And the life you will be living tomorrow is being framed by the
words you speak today. Quite literally, your life and your death are in the power of your tongue (Proverbs
18:21).
When someone believes in their heart the truth of God's Word and they speak that truth, it comes to
pass because their faith activates the Word. The words of Satan have no power unless you repeat them.
If you listen to the lie of the enemy and speak the lie, it activates the opposing spiritual force of fear and
enables the enemy to do his work. We could say that repeating his lie is aiding and abetting the enemy
because it enables him with power and gives him permission to destroy.
Faith and fear are the two spiritual forces that activate power and release angelic spirits to do their work.
When faith is spoken, according to Psalm 103:20, it activates the angels of God to bring His Word to pass.
We know that angelic spirits are on the earth for the purpose of ministering to the children of God. But
they can only do this as they are instructed by the voice of His Word and Christians are the only ones
authorized to speak His Word in faith. We have been given that authority.
As a speaking spirit, you choose to release the Word of God into the earth or you choose to release the
words of the enemy into the earth. Either way, it's your choice. And your harvest in life will depend upon
your choice.
Jesus said in Mark 11:23 that if we believe in our heart that what we say will come to pass, we will have
what we say. Although the words of the enemy are powerless unless he can convince you to speak them,
likewise the Word of God is ineffective in your life and the power of grace is hindered until you activate
God's Word by being His voice on the earth.
Heads or Tails
When you flip a coin, fifty percent of the time it will be heads and fifty percent of the time it will be tails.
You have no choice. It's determined strictly by chance.
Your life should be different. It should not be determined by chance. As a Christian, we should always be
the head and never the tail.
Personally, I do not have a pet animal that I keep inside my house. However, I have friends that do and I
have made this great observation over the years. When they enter the house and see their pet, they hug,

2|Page

kiss, and look at their pet's face. They talk to their pet as they look into its eyes and you can sense the
love they have for their animal. But my observation is this. Everything involves the head. The other end
does not receive the same respect!
In life, it's much the same way. If you are considered prosperous, people will treat you with respect and
honor, just like the head. If you live in poverty, you will be avoided just like the tail. Trust me. Being the
head is better than being the tail.
As Christians, we are expected to influence the world for Jesus. Our desire should be to send missionaries
throughout the world with sufficient supply so that they can do the work of the Gospel and not be
distracted by fundraising.
Christians should be humble, but being humble does not mean that you are in poverty. A few years ago,
I had lunch with the third richest man in the United States at the time. With all of his wealth and fame,
he was probably one of the most humble men I had ever met.
We must not fear prosperity because of wrong thinking that when we prosper we will become prideful.
Pride and humility have no connection with money. Money is neutral. A righteous man who attains
money will do good works. An evil man who attains money will do evil. Money doesn't decide where it
goes or what it is used for. The heart of its master decides.
The LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you
heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe
them (Deuteronomy 28:13).
Focus on the Truth
First John 4:18 says, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves
torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." As the pastor of a fast-growing church, I
am constantly encountering new ministry and counseling opportunities. About the time that I think I've
heard every story that can be told, that there is nothing else in the world left to hear, I will hear something
completely new.
I've learned that when someone is sitting across the desk from me, it doesn't matter how respectable
they are or how well-known in the community they may be, I must be prepared for anything. However,
no matter how common or uncommon the counseling session may be, I have discovered one common
denominator. People are looking for a normal life, a day with no problems, a day without pain. They just
want to survive.
God's plan for the church is not just survival. The Bible is not a book on "How to Survive." As Christians
we are not called to merely "get by" and be without pain, but we are called to rule and reign. We were
made to thrive! Some people have the mistaken idea that God's role in their life is just for the purpose
of removing bad circumstances.
John 3:16 tells us we will not perish if we believe in Jesus. However, the main focus is not on what we
won't have, but instead on what we will have. The theme of John 3:16 is believe in Jesus and you will
have everlasting life.
Too often we focus on what we need to get rid of. But in truth, if we would focus on what God has for us
and walk in it, then the negative elements in our life would be automatically removed. Once again, John
3:16 tells us of God's great love and His desire for us to believe in Jesus so that we will receive everlasting
life.
Our prayer to God is "Father, I accept Jesus and I thank You for giving me eternal life." When we do that,
the eternal death is automatically gone. The prayer of salvation is not, "God, don't let me die. God, take

3|Page

away the perishing. God, take away the death. Amen." No! The main focus of a Christian should be on
the truth and not on the lie. It should be on the promise and not the problem.
Yes, of course, we must deal with demonic activity. Yes, we must cast out evil spirits as necessary, but
we cannot focus all of our energy on evil. We must focus on the truth.
Faith and fear are opposites. Love and hate are opposites. Peace and anxiety are opposites. If we walk in
faith, love, and peace, then there will be no fear, hate or anxiety.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears
has not been made perfect in love" (John 4:18).
Living Above the Circumstances
A common greeting among people is, "Hello. How are you doing?" And a common response is, "Not too
bad under the circumstances." This should never be the response of the Christian.
A Christian should not be "under the circumstances." Being under the circumstances means that the
things of life rule over you. What are your circumstances in life? Are they financial? Are they physical?
Are they family-related? Whatever the circumstances, we should rule over them.
Once we become Christians, we are not to be ruled by what is around us. As Christians, we are not to
make our decisions in life based on what we see. Our decisions must be based on the commands from
God in the invisible world and we must act on them in this visible world we reside in.
If we allow ourselves to react to the circumstances around us, then all the devil has to do to nudge us
into the place where he wants us to be is to change our circumstances. As believers, we are commanded
to not be moved by what we see, but instead, to walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Remember, Paul talked about that in the book of Acts. "Now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not
knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying
that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me" (Acts 20:22-24).
We must be like Paul. We must not allow ourselves to be moved by anything that the devil delivers to
us. We must only be moved by the Spirit of God and by what God speaks to us through His Word.
We were created to rule and reign on this earth. Under the New Covenant, we have been given authority
over all the power of the evil one. There is no excuse for a Christian to "be under the circumstances."
So the next time someone greets you and asks how you are doing, try telling that person the truth - that
you are a child of the King, the enemy is under your feet, and you are always above the circumstances.
Under Your Feet
"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the
enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Luke 10:19).
When I walk through my house late at night, I usually don't turn on the lights. I have dim walking lights
scattered throughout the house that put out enough light to guide me on the stairs and the hallways.
One night while walking on the lower level, I stepped on something that felt like a needle between my
toes. I immediately reached over and turned on the overhead lights just in time to see a scorpion
scurrying away from my foot.
I immediately said in a quiet voice, "I rebuke you scorpion in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed
against me shall prosper. My foot will not swell up. I will not experience pain. I command the poison to

4|Page

be null and void and I thank You, Jesus, that there will be no harmful effects from this scorpion sting. I
have been given authority to trample upon scorpions. I have been delivered."
I saw the scorpion next to the baseboard at the edge of the wall and calmly crushed it with a nearby
newspaper and continued on my journey down the hall to my office. I googled "scorpions" and found a
picture of the one that had stung me. Even though it was listed as dangerous and sometimes deadly,
there was no fear.
About an hour later I told my wife, Loretta, what had happened and showed her the scorpion sting on
my foot. There was a small red spot that looked like a needle prick between my toes. But other than that,
there was nothing. I never experienced a moment of pain, swelling, or discomfort.
We know that in the Bible serpents and scorpions are symbolic names for demonic spirits that attempt
to destroy our lives. Jesus said in John 10:10 that the agenda of the enemy is to steal, kill, and to destroy.
Although God is omnipresent by way of His Holy Spirit, the devil is not. God can be listening to the prayers
of a million Christians around the world at the same time and giving each of them His undivided attention.
How can this be? God is the Creator and has that ability. Satan, on the other hand, is created. He can
only be at one place at a time. When the Bible tells us that Satan entered into Judas, at that moment,
Satan was nowhere else in the universe (John 13:27). He was restricted. He is not omnipresent.
Because Satan is restricted in his movement and can only be at one place at a time, he must enlist the
aid of his fallen angels. These demonic spirits perform his work. Again the desire of the prince of demons
is to steal, kill, and destroy. There is a spiritual assignment against every Christian on this earth. If you
are a Christian and don't believe that spiritual warfare is taking place, you are naive. You are a target.
For this reason, you must believe and receive the words of Jesus. You must not only know that Jesus paid
the price to give you authority over the enemy, but you must take and act on that authority.
Over the centuries, there have been those who handle poisonous snakes and scorpions in order to
somehow prove their spirituality. This is total foolishness. However, we cannot allow the foolishness of
some to cause us to back away from the reality of the authority we have been given.
The enemy attacks in the spiritual and it manifests in the physical. Sickness and disease is a spiritual
attack, but it destroys physically. How much authority do we have? According to Jesus, we've been given
authority over all the power of the enemy.
The word authority in this verse in Luke comes from the Greek word exousia and the word power comes
from the word dynamis. Quite literally it means we have been given the authority (the permission or
liberty to do as we please) over the power (all the ability and might) of the enemy. Then Jesus goes on to
say that when we exercise this authority, nothing shall by any means harm us.
So the next time you are walking through life and you feel the sting of a demonic attack, have no fear.
Seize the authority you've been given, put it into effect through your words and actions, and the enemy
will submit. Your position is the seat of authority, and his position is under your feet! (Romans 16:20).

Division Hinders Our Prayers

As Christians, we need to be in agreement. We must be in agreement with God, with the Word, and with
each other.
In Matthew 18:19, Jesus said, "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything
that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

5|Page

There is power in agreement and according to Jesus, if we ask God the Father concerning anything, it will
be done. Now I know that when we read God's Word, we must take the sum of the Scriptures in balance.
And here's what I mean.
If your child has a messy room, you could say this: "If you clean up your room, I will be pleased. And then,
if you want to go to the park to play, all you have to do is ask me and I will take you."
Does this mean that you will take the child to the park if he or she asks? Yes, of course you will. You gave
your word -- but only if the child does what you ask. The child must clean the room first. If this child asks
to go to the park and you go to the room and find it messy, you will not be pleased and the trip is off.
Only when the conditions are met will you do what you said you would do.
This is the way it is with God. He has filled His Word full of promises. These promises are for you and for
me. He has given us hope and confidence that He will meet our needs. However, we cannot forget the
requirements.
Now, I know that we are living in a time of grace and that we do not deserve the salvation that has been
given to us. But, even though the salvation is a free gift, we must still meet certain requirements.
Is salvation and everlasting life for everyone? Yes. But, will everyone be saved and have everlasting life?
No, because there are requirements. We must believe in our hearts and we must confess with our
mouths.
This is the way the entire Word of God is. So when we read Matthew 18:19 about two of us agreeing on
anything we ask and then it will be done by God, we must know that Jesus also made this promise
conditional, and the main condition is agreement.
Satan does not want us to agree with each other. First of all, he knows that when we as Christians do not
agree with the Word of God, it leaves us without faith and when we don't agree with each other, it leads
to division in the church. If Satan can get Christians to disagree, then he has weakened the prayer power
of the church. He accomplishes this through strife, quarrels, and hatred.
Proverbs 10:12 says, "Hatred stirs up strife but love covers a multitude of sins." And Proverbs 16:28 says,
"A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends."
God wants us unified and in agreement. Satan wants to divide us and make us ineffective. So, let's agree.
As the church, let's walk in love and understanding. Let's walk in the power of agreement and our prayers
will be answered.
The Gospel of Power
"For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much
assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake" (1 Thessalonians 1:5).
The world is entertained with movies, games, and sporting events, but movies, games, and sporting
events will never transform an alcoholic, will never heal the crippled, or restore a broken life to fullness.
Only the revelation of the Word through the demonstration of power by the Holy Spirit will accomplish
this.
One of the greatest deceptions of the modern church is the idea that to attract the world, we must show
the world that we understand them by looking like and acting like them. The tolerance of sin through the
searing of the conscience (1 Timothy 4:1-2) dulls the message of the gospel and eliminates the need for
repentance. Of course, we do not want to be condemning and judgmental, but we cannot accept or
ignore sin in order to draw the world to the church.

6|Page

The Holy Spirit does not condemn man (John 3:17). Man has already done that to himself (John 3:18).
But the power of the Holy Spirit through the manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit and the lifestyle of
the fruit of the Spirit will shed light into the dark places and expose the sin. Then once the sin is exposed,
without condemnation but through love, the choice can be made to repent and turn away from the
darkness of the world.
I have seen Christians spend hours trying to intellectually explain to a nonbeliever why they must repent.
While it is good to share the Scriptures, we must never forget that the revelation of the Scriptures only
comes through the work of the Holy Spirit. Remember, Paul said that spiritual things could not be
understood by the natural mind (1 Corinthians 2:14). This is why Paul did not approach people only
through natural persuasive words of wisdom, but by the power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit (1
Corinthians 2:4).

Seated with Him in Heavenly Places

Jesus was not created in the womb of Mary. Jesus was, is, and always will be the Son of God. He has
always existed. (John 1:1-2.) We must understand that at the beginning of time, He did not have a human
body. He received it 2,000 years ago at the moment of conception. The physical body He had here on
earth was created in the womb of Mary. The Scripture says that the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, came
upon Mary and somehow miraculously the seed of the living God was created and placed inside of her
and she conceived a child and that child was Jesus.
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law
(Galatians 4:4).
Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth as a man, but He did not have an earthly father. That's why He could
refer to God as His Father because God really was His physical Father. The bloodline follows the male.
You can find out who the father of a child is by comparing the blood of the father and the child. In this
case, the bloodline of the Father was not earthly, but was pure and without sin. Although Jesus was on
earth in an earthly body in the form of a man, He eternally exists in eternity past and future.
Jesus is the Word of God. The Bible clearly tells us that not only is He the Word of God, but that He
himself is God. God, through His Word (Jesus), created everything and that includes the angels (John 1:3).
Let's make something extremely clear. Angels were created. God was never created. There was a time
that angels did not exist. There was never a time when God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) did
not exist. To say that Jesus is an angel is to bring God down to the level of His creation and to deny His
eternal existence. Any religion, organization, denomination, or cult that restricts Jesus to the office of a
prophet is saying that He is a mere man. And any religion that says Jesus is an angel is, by default, saying
that Jesus is not God or the Creator. Jesus is the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was
God at creation.
There is a false teaching that says a Christian will become an angel in heaven. However, the Bible does
say that a Christian becomes like Jesus. Jesus has a glorified, resurrected human body and so will you. In
the same way that He was not, is not, and will never be an angel, neither will you. You were created in
the likeness and image of God (Genesis 1:27), not in the likeness and image of an angel.
But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool"?
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews
1:13-14).
He raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6).

7|Page

These scriptures tell us that God has never said that an angel could sit at His right hand. God told Jesus
to sit at His right hand and that He would make His enemies His footstool. He also says that angels were
not invited to be seated with Him because they were ministering spirits that were sent out to minister
for those who would inherit salvation. In other words, they were to minister to the body of Christ on
earth. But it is interesting to note in this Ephesians Scripture reference that we are made to be seated
with Christ in heavenly places. Therefore, once again, it is confirmed. Believers are not angels because
angels were not invited to sit at His right hand.
Heaven is Not Really That Far Away
Heaven is a glorious place and probably the most important place in the universe to God. It is where He
placed His throne and is the central location for His command structure in the spirit world (Matthew 6:9).
Look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land which You
have given us, just as You swore to our fathers.
Deuteronomy 26:15
The word "heaven" is used 692 times in the Bible (NKJV). We know there are multiple heavens. We know
this because on one occasion, Paul the apostle visited the third heaven (2 Corinthians 12:2-4) and if there
is a third heaven, there obviously must be a first and a second. So, first let's look at the heavens
mentioned in the Bible.
The first heaven is the area where we have clouds and the atmosphere containing the oxygen which man
breathes. The second heaven is the darkness referred to as space. The third heaven is beyond what we
can see. You cannot see God through a telescope, no matter how great it is.
When we think about the levels of heaven, so often we think about distance when in reality we should
be thinking dimension. Heaven, although it is far away, in the realm of the spirit is actually very close.
Think of the distance to heaven being like window blinds. When they are closed, you cannot see on the
other side. Whether something is close or far away, you can see nothing beyond the window blinds. But
when you pull the cord and the blinds begin to shift, then everything that is far away and everything that
is near can be clearly seen.
When Stephen, who was the first New Testament martyr, was being stoned, he saw Jesus standing at
the right hand of the Father in heaven. I believe a dimensional shift took place and he was able to see to
the other side. It's interesting that Stephen alone was able to see, but that's because revelation, whether
it be in the Word or in the spirit, is individual.
In the Old Testament (2 Kings 6:8-23), the king of Syria was making war against Israel. The king was
troubled because his plans to attack Israel were made known in Israel. And because the king of Israel
knew the plans in advance, the Syrian army's strategy failed every time. The Syrian king thought he had
a spy in his inner circle. His servant told him that Elisha, the prophet in Israel, was telling their plans to
the king of Israel. So he sent his army to capture the prophet of God. When the great army arrived, the
multitude of Syrian soldiers filled the hills surrounding the prophet and his servant. The servant of the
prophet looked out and saw the army and said, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" (vs. 15).
Then the prophet Elisha said, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with
them" (vs. 16). The servant looked around and saw two people - himself and Elisha. Then the prophet
prayed, and said, "Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see" (vs 17). The eyes of the servant were
opened and he saw the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire that far outnumbered the Syrian
army.
Did the army of God just appear at that moment when Elisha asked for his servant's eyes to be opened?
No, the army was already there, it's just that the servant could not see into the realm of the spirit. But
when his eyes were opened and there was a shift in the dimension, he could see clearly.

8|Page

The Bible says that we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses who are cheering us on and we know that
this cloud of witnesses is in heaven with the Lord. So the reality is this: although Paradise is in the third
heaven, it's not really that far away.
The Work of Faith
James 2:14 says, "What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
Can faith save him?"
James 2:17 says, "Thus also faith, by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
Later in the same chapter it says, "But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is
dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you
see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?" (James 2:2022).
The Word of God is trying to make a point here. And the point is this. Faith without works is dead.
How does a man have faith without works? By hearing the Word and not doing it. So, according to the
Bible, a man who hears the Word and does not do what it says, does not truly have faith. Because he
hears the Word of God he has convinced himself that everything is okay. The reality, however, is that
everything is not okay, he just thinks it is. Therefore he has deceived himself and living faith does not
exist in him.
In Matthew 7:24, Jesus tells the story of two men who built houses. One man, a wise man, built his house
on the rock and then when the storms came his house withstood the storms. The other man, a foolish
man, built his house on the sand. When the storms came, his house was destroyed. Jesus said the man
who built his house on the rock was like someone who hears his sayings and does them. He compared
the foolish man who built his house on the sand to a man who heard his sayings and did not do them.
We must not deceive ourselves. Hearing the Word of God without acting on the Word can be deadly.
God didn't give us His Word just so we would be highly educated. Education is good. It's a good thing to
read and study God's Word, but without action it profits us nothing. That's what the scribes and Pharisees
did. But because they did not put the Word into action, Jesus rebuked them for their hypocrisy.
We've all known people who can talk the talk but never seem to deliver. Our words are important. Our
thoughts are important. Our faith is important. But we must not just believe, we must act on our belief.
Only then will there be faith.
James 2:19 tells us that even the demons believe. But do the demons have faith? No! Of course not! They
know about the Word but they do not act on it.
So, we have a choice to make. Do we hear the Word and sit back and say, "That sounds pretty good" and
do nothing but talk about it? Or, do we hear the Word and then act on what we hear?
Only by acting on the Word, only by hearing the sayings of Jesus and doing them, will our houses be built
on the rock. Only when we build on the rock will we survive the storms.
Remember this. A doer of the Word is someone who prays for the sick. A doer of the Word is someone
who forgives. A doer of the Word is someone who loves those who don't love in return. A doer of the
Word is someone who not only says they have faith but he has the corresponding actions to prove it.
