Behavior Intervention Specialist - The Behavior Intervention Specialist assist the teacher with
managing student behavior. High School diploma or equivalent required, BA/BS preferred;
Paraprofessional Certificate and State Letter of Approval required, Type 39 Substitute Teacher
Certificate preferred; Bi-lingual preferred. Crisis prevention and behavioral management techniques
may include physically restraining and physically transporting residents.
Bi-Lingual Family Development Specialist (TPSN) - The Family Development Specialist provides
parenting and clinical support and assessment, completes New Birth Assessments for young parents
and communication with and training of Network partners while utilizing UCANs Clinical Philosophies
through Trauma Informed practice and Positive Youth Development. MSW or MS/MA in Social Work,
Early Childhood Education or a related Human Service field required; 3-5 years work experience in
child welfare or human services. Car and valid Illinois drivers license and insurance required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Career Specialist (CYEP) - The Career/Retention Specialist will be instrumental with the
implementation of Individual Work Plans for youth while creating paid work experiences and
unsubsidized work experiences, Career Coaching and Counseling, Intervention, Regular Participant
Contact, Case Noting and Developing Reports. This position will also make appropriate referrals &
advocate for appropriate services; serving as mentor and field monitor in these assignments. The
Career/Retention Specialist will also work with youth participants in retention and re-employment
services. Position Requirements: BA/BS with at least 2 years of workforce development experience
combined with 1 year of Case Management experience or MA/MS with at least 2 years of workforce
development and/or case management experience.
Case Manager (Foster Care Vernon Hills, IL) - The Case Manager provides direct individual and family
casework services to facilitate healing through trauma Informed services and Positive Youth
Development. Utilizing UCANs Clinical Philosophy, the Case Manager provides support and
education to enhance parenting skills and to prepare youth for self-sufficiency upon emancipation.
BSW or BS/BA in Human Service field required; Licensed Child Welfare Services Employee or license
eligible; 0-2 years of experience working in human services, child welfare, or crisis intervention. Car
and valid Illinois drivers license and insurance required.
Cook (Residential Therapeutic Home) The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety
of items from a cycle menu, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Position
Requirements: H.S. diploma or equivalent; A valid State and city sanitation certificate; Demonstrated
ability to prepare nutritious and tasty meals that clients will enjoy; Two (2) year experience in related
work, preferably in a child welfare, hospital or other institutional setting.
Community Support Specialist (PT/FT/Overnights) - The Transitional Living Program Community
Support Specialist works in conjunction with the rest of the TLP treatment team to provide direct
individual and group services to adolescent teens and teen parents and their children who reside in
a transitional living setting. GED or H.S. Diploma required with 3-5 years experience working with
children and adolescents. Associates Degree preferred with at least 1 year experience working with
children and adolescents. Car and valid Illinois drivers license and insurance required.

Developer SharePoint/SQL - The Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining various
software applications, primarily SharePoint and other web applications to meet the administrative
and programmatic needs of UCAN. The Developer works cooperatively as part of the IT team to
provide excellent customer service to achieve UCANs vision and mission.
Maintenance Mechanic - The Maintenance Mechanic organizes, coordinates, and implements the
operations of corrective and preventive maintenance for assigned multiple facilities. Position
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required; 3-4 years maintenance experience;
Strong background in residential plumbing and commercial plumbing preferred. HVAC, electrical, and
other related crafts required; Excellent interpersonal skills required; Valid drivers license required;
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; Ability to follow through on tasks as
assigned with attention to detail.
Quality Improvement Specialist - The Quality Improvement Specialist coordinates numerous program
evaluation, quality improvement and quality assurance functions within the QI Department; including
monitoring programs for compliance toward quality standards, implementing tools used for program
and service evaluation, and organizing data collection and information analysis. Position
Requirements: BA/BS in Human Service field required; Masters degree in Social Work or related
field preferred and a minimum of 2 years work experience in social service field.
Residential Treatment Specialist- (Overnight & PM shifts) - The Residential Specialist provides direct
service to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disorders in a residential setting.
Must be 21 years of age and have a valid drivers license. H.S. Diploma or GED with at least 5 years
of related experience (human services, child welfare or crisis intervention) BSW or BA/BS in Human
Service field and must have a working knowledge of computer use.
School Social Worker The Social Worker provides individual, group and family social work services
to students. Position requirements: MSW with Type 73 Certification; 0-2 years experience providing
therapy in a clinical or related setting; Two (2) years experience in child and adolescent individual
and group therapy and LSW or LCSW a plus.
Special Education Teacher - The Lead Teacher works with a group of students, employing specific
training skills to conduct special educational activities. Position requirements: Type 10 (ED/BD),
LBS1 Unlimited or LBS1 Limited Certification and experience in the ability to teach all subject matter
in a self-contained environment.
Therapist (CYDS & Foster Care) - Under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Supervisor, the
Therapist provides individual, group and family psychotherapy services in-home and in-office in both
English and Spanish languages to assigned clients. Position requirements: MSW or MA/MS in
Human Services/Psychology/Counseling; 0-2 years experience providing therapy in a clinical or
related setting; Two (2) years experience in child and adolescent individual and group therapy; LPC
or LSW a plus. Car and valid Illinois drivers license and insurance required.
Transportation Aide (Part-time) The Transportation aide drives or escorts clients or client families
from their home to an agency-designation, and return them home. The Transportation Aide works as
a member of the client's care team by observing and reporting client actions and interactions as
appropriate and supervises children as necessary. Position Requirements: High School Diploma or
equivalent; Car and valid IL Drivers License required.
