Log onto the website, pick the grade, then the subject. For each subject
there are different assignments.
Students can get into groups of two and work together to come up with
the answers.
Positive: It helps with multiple grades, It pin points each subject, Helps
kids work together, helps kids build skills on working with technology.

the teacher something to make,

An online poster-maker. You can log in and for your own poster.
9th grade Geography: They would have to create a map, and have a
symbol for every state.
Kindergarten Math lesson: They would have to put a picture of each coin,
and put the value of each one, working as a group.
Geometry class any grade: You can use a graph on the poster, and graph
a y and x point in groups
Positives: You can do it individual and in class. Its safe for kids to use.
Teachers can monitor the students work.
Negatives: You have to create a membership. There isnt spell check. The
students could become easily distracted by the designs instead of
making it a part of their project.

Name of tool: Box
Where to access this tool (web address): https://account.box.com/login
Brief instructions of how to use the tool: It is much like google docs. You
can upload files, and share/ send them to one another. Everyone is able to
work on the document at once. You can create your own documents on the
website, and work together.
Ideas for how the tool can be used in PK-12: For older kids, this is a way
to give them homework at home.
9th grade: class a group research paper. The students could collaborate
together on Box, and share what theyve found with one another easily.
6th grade class: can make a collage by sharing images on the website.
Positives and challenges of using the tool: It is very easy to use, and I
think even simpler than google docs. One down side is that you have to pay per
month for a membership. However, ODU provides this tool for their students, so it
could be a good investment for other schools as well. It is also definitely more of a
tool for middle school high school students, as it is definitely harder to see
elementary kids able to use a tool like this or google docs.
From this ODU webpage https://online.odu.edu/policies-and-student-responsibilities copy the
Honor Pledge below to make the promise that you have met online as instructed in a face-toface virtual environment (e.g. Skype or Google Hangouts) to complete this assignment.

Honor Pledge
I pledge to support the Honor System of Old Dominion University. I will refrain
from any form of academic dishonesty or deception, such as cheating or
plagiarism. I am aware that as a member of the academic community it is my
responsibility to turn in all suspected violations of the Honor Code. I will report
to a hearing if summoned.
