Report
Confidence is a skill that is important when we try to read something
with correct pronunciation. However it is important to notice our
mistakes as we read something. The first time I read the three texts I
read them as a whole without respecting commas and periods, I was
doing it too fast!. I made a few mistakes of words that looked familiar
mistaken the pronunciation of them. The first thing that I noticed is that I
didnt sound Natural, but as I continued reading the text I started
sounding better. Some strategies I used to get better at the
pronunciation of the text are;

Repeat
Listen to the audio and identify the mistakes
Respect grammar punctuations
Repeat the text slow
Practice
Look up for pronunciation of words that you are not sure of
Sound Natural
Record it several times
Concentrate
Do your best
Be aware
Use repetitive review
Use self-correction
Think in English
Practice aloud

The problems I presented were to identify every single pronunciation in

individual words. To distinguish between diphthongs and tripthongs was
hard at the beginning. Words with short vowels like moth, both, and bed
next to similar words that have the same letters confused me by the

time I had to read them I repeat it them. It was difficult to concentrate

because the context lacked context meaning, like random rhyming
words just put together to form a tongue twister. The most difficult parts
were hiccough, thorough, laugh and through this sentence was
extremely hard because the endings are similar (suffix) so In my head
they sound the same, I had to take my time and focus on practicing it;
The other sentence that I had difficulty with is Nor both in bother, broth
in brother , I think the similarities in the words as individual items
confused our brain, because the beginning of the word looks exactly the
same (prefix). The most important lesson I got from this activity is to
take our time, to practice, and identify the strategies the work for us as
individuals.

After listening to the audio I only made approximately 1 or 2 mistakes.

Through-out the text and the practice I did a better job. The whole audio was
continuous and with a few pauses the intonation was proper and respected the
rhythm and sentence flow.
