ART 6 COURSE OUTLINE

Ms. Welch & Mrs. Magierowski ~ Room 121

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This Art 6 course will involve learning and using the Elements & Principles of Design. The course
concentrates on drawing, compositions and encounters within art, helping students create a basic
art foundation. Students will use traditional and contemporary tools, materials and media to express
their feelings and values on art creation and art form. Students knowledge and appreciation of art
will grow as they analysis different artists and their methods within Art History. This class will
encourage students to develop good team member skills, creative problem solving abilities and
experience using different tools, materials and technology.

MARERIALS
Please bring the following materials listed below to class with you each day:
* Pencil sharpener
* Glue Stick
* Scissors
* Drawing pencils: HB
* Eraser: white eraser

* Ruler (30cm)
* Pencil Crayons
* Felt markers
* Pencil case or box to hold these items
* Any additional items you wish to bring!

All students will receive a sketchbook at the beginning of the term which is their own. There will
be a place in the art room to store the sketchbook, so students dont have to worry about
remembering to bring it to each class. Students will be given a sketch checklist, which will give
them a sketch to work on each day of the term. This is how artists get good at what they like to
do- practice! Dont worry if your sketched may not be as good or look quite like others- we are all
at different levels of learning and of experience in our artistic ability- all I ask is that you try your
best

LATE ASSIGNMENTS
Because our projects are classroom-based assignments, all work
shall be done in school unless otherwise suggested. If you are away
and miss a few classes, alternative arrangements may be made to
get caught up. If you know that you will be absent it is your
responsibility to let me know before it happens. Please see me on
the day you return from an absence so we can make arrangements
for you to complete your work!
