Abstract

The Impact of (ERP) Enterprise Resources Planning effectiveness

on the Organization Performance Excellence: An Empirical Study
in the Greater Amman Municipality

Prepared by:
Asma Marwan ALfaouri
Supervised by:
Dr.Mohammed AL-Shura

The study aimed at detecting the impact of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems
effectiveness on achieving the distinction of institutional performance in the Greater
Amman Municipality, through the study of the dimensions of the effectiveness of these
systems (Information quality, System quality, User satisfaction) as it considered as one of
the management information systems. This study was based on the reason that the
Greater Amman Municipality has applied ERP systems, which included most of sectors
and jobs and aiming to planning and optimum utilization of human and financial
resources. This project has cost the Greater Amman Municipality approximately 14
million Jordanian Dinars of its budget. In order to achieve the goal of the study, the
researcher designed questionnaire to collect preliminary data , consisting of (30)
paragraph and distributed to members of the study sample. The study's sample contains
the Department of Finance in the Greater Amman Municipality of ERP system users,
which only use the ERP system and the number of participants was (100) user. In the
light of this, data were collected, analyzed, test hypotheses were undertaken by using the
statistical package SPSS. Afterwards, descriptive analysis, variance and correlation

coefficient for the study hypotheses. One of the most significant findings of this study
illustrates that there is an existence of a relationship with statistical evidence between
effectiveness of ERP Systems (Information Quality, System Quality, User Satisfaction)
and their combined impact on institutional performance excellence .
After the emergence of the relationship between the variables of the study the researcher
introduced a number of recommendations that aim to benefit from the outputs of the
study such as the need to cover all the areas under the Greater Amman Municipality with
regards to applying ERP system in order for planning and optimum utilization of the
Greater Amman Municipality resources, the necessity to improve the capacity of users to
the system of the ERP by holding specialized training courses on an ongoing basis, and
the need to implement the principle of participation effectiveness of workers in decisionmaking through their use of the ERP system, as must be the necessity of activating the
system's ability to speed up the processing of complaints and suggestions of employees.
