Chapter 8 Algebra: Equations and Inequalities

Throughout the next few weeks , our math classes will be learning
about equations and inequalities. We will be learning how to write,
model, and solve equations, and how to graph solutions to
inequalities. You can expect to see nightly homework on writing
and solving equations and inequalities.

As with every unit, there are unfamiliar vocabulary terms the
students will be learning. The new vocabulary words for this unit
are:
Equation A statement that two mathematical
expressions are equal.
Inverse Operations: Operations that undo each
other , such as addition and subtraction or division
and multiplication.
Solution of an Equation: A value of a variable
that makes an equation true.
