FROM YOUR ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Art Long - along@eastmont.org

Christmas is my most favorite time of the year! Except

for the Ebenezer Scrooges, Im sure that is true for
most of us. I love everything about the season; from
the hustle and bustle (Im not sure what bustle means
either) to the fragrance of a fresh-cut Christmas
tree trimmed with colorful lights and ornaments, to
the songs and carols, and the old and new movies,
animated and otherwise. Christmas cards, gift giving,
stockings, exterior illumination, Santa Claus and his
eight reindeer.
I could go on and on, but I wont. Suffice it to say, the
sounds, smells, sights & tastes of the season are truly
unique to Christmas. Family and friends who are dear
to us gather near to us once more!
But what I love most is the reason for the season!
Jesus Christ, God the Son, Our Creator, stepped out
of heaven, became like us, but without sin, became
sin on our behalf, suffered, bled, and died so that we
might be forgiven of our sins. He was buried and
three days later, was physically resurrected from the
dead, assuring us of eternal life. He ascended to God
the Father and sits at His right hand interceding for
us, with the sure promise that He is coming again!
Christmas is all about celebrating His coming into the
world!
On behalf of Bro. Mike, the staff, support staff and our
families, we hope and pray that you and yours will have
a Christ-filled Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Bro. Art

SUNDAY SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Phil Redding / Travis Norwood Class

Were a small, diverse group, united by our love for Jesus

and our need for His grace and guidance as we journey life
together. So, were a participative class, praying for each
other, studying and discussing His Word together. Were
very real, sharing our joys and struggles in an atmosphere
of Christian love and acceptance. On the road to complete
spiritual maturity, if youve already arrived, youve gotten
there before us. But we study the Word and look for life
applications that lead us toward that goal and a vibrant,
personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Wed love to have
you enrich our class and welcome any adults seeking a
Sunday School home!
God Bless, Phil Redding & Travis Norwood

Men of Eastmont: We Need You! (Pray 1:10:31)

Men of Faith, Praying for Family and Friends

We need a few more men committed to pray
daily throughout the month of January for every
family in our church. Each man will pray for 10 families
(or homes) every day beginning January 1 through
January 31. This commitment will only take about 10
minutes each day, plus sending out 3 cards to each family
during the month. The cards will already be prepared
and stamped for you to mail. You can sign up during the
next 2 weeks in your Sunday School / Life Group classes.
We will get instructions and materials to you before
