AIMS
(I) The main object is to develop the students language sense and linguistic skill and his ability to understand, speak, read and write
general English
(II) The second objective is to develop the capacity of our pupils to express themselves in English freely, correctly and with proper
pronunciation in takes or conversation on ordinary topics
(III) The third objective is to enable pupils to express their ideas of non-technical nature in simple correct English obviously the stress
is entirely on expression.
(IV) The fourth objective is to generate in the pupils a love for the language and a desire to cultivate it at leisure for pleasure and
profit.
(V) The fifth objective is to teach English as an auxiliary language to maintain communicative skill with other parts of the world.
(VI) The sixth objective is to enable pupils to acquire knowledge of fundamental concepts of English grammar.
Lastly, we may say that our approach in teaching English must be to import a practical command or the four basic skills for use in
the widest possible range of situation.
SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT

Students will be assessed on their class work and home work performance.5 marks are allocated for their class work and
homework performance.

In every term two assignments will be given to them. Each assignment will carry 5 marks. These marks will be included in their
monthly report.

Every month a test of 15 marks will be held. A composition /an unseen comprehension passage will be given to test their
understanding.

Half yearly and Final examination; composition 20 marks, directed writing 20 marks, unseen comprehension passage 25
marks, summary writing 20 marks, grammar 10 marks, paragraph writing 10 marks.)

ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVE

To identify the problem areas for remedial attention.


To check on the general progress and obtaining feedback.
To evaluate course or syllabus.
Institutional requirement for student promotion.
To measure what a student knows.
To gauge the enforcement of learning and student motivation.

To assess the skill of being able to absorb information and to apply it to different contexts and circumstances.
To analyze the understanding of the subject matter they have covered, demonstrating a critical understanding of this subject

A myth is a story that involves beings with supernatural powers. Many myths were created to explain how something came to exist
e.g. Mountains, fire, rainbows and planets
Learn the particular words written in the text to have a good idea of the glossary of all the myth-related words.

Activity 2
Do you know any myths that originated in Asia or even in Pakistan? In groups, discuss myths you are familiar with and write a brief
account of them, including the culture they came from and what they are suppose to explain.

Students will be encouraged to participate in an intra school declamation contest.

Scrabble contest will be held to enhance the vocabulary of the students.
