Narrator: This is a tale of every town.

Every street up and down, but which town, which

street, Im not quite sure of that. But one thing Im sure of is they both would stay together,
every night and every day. Now which day and how many nights, Im not quite sure of that,
but one thing Im sure of is when a teacher teaches A B C, the students were not paying
attention.
Teacher: Write capital A B and C on your notebook, you fool
Narrator: And hed write Laila
Teacher: I said A,B and C!
Narrator: Laila, Laila, Laila
Teacher: Youll be cursed to hell. Whats this with your Laila spouting? Shes just a mere
flesh and blood. Show me your hand. (cane beats) The other too (cane beats). (both hands
were got beaten by cane). (he started to cry).
Laila: show painful expression (of pleasing the teacher not to cane him). Stop please (loud
and crying). Dont hurt him, it hurts me as well, please. (approaches to him) Comfort that
little hand please (she lies down on his hand to comfort). Dont hurt him, it hurts me please.
(wipes his tears).
(both parents came in)
Lailas mother: What nature is this strange? Or the work of the deranged?
Lailas father: A magic spell has been cast on her. Dont bring him near to her (furious).
(Both fathers pull their children away from each other. And repulsion-attraction begins.)
(Lailas mother -sadness-grief)

Narrator: Childhood flew away like a kite. Hearts fluttered to a new horizon. They have
become adults now and even love is fluttered inside them too. Are these adults starting to
brew?
(Probably a festival-including dancing)-2 minutes
(Both Laila-Majnu collide each other) (others be static)
Narrator: Am I here and are you too? Or are we both not here at all? What,who and why, I
dont know. Cant we hear or say at all?
(Both Laila-Majnu in their Loveland)

-ROMANCE MOOD ON(Laila pulls out Majnus hand and covers with her hand)
Laila: Im Laila, youre Majnu. God has already been whispering to our ears.
Majnu: Yes darling, those words were clung to my tongue and will stay for years.

In the midst of romancing.

Lailas brother: You scum, you brute. Ill chop your hands off. Do you know who are you
tainting with your touch?
Majnu: Shes mine.
Lailas brother: Youre such a muck. Your caste, your religion is. Ill bury you this time, and
if I dont, my name isnt Tabrez and shes not of my blood. I cant take this anymore!
Majnu: Shes mine.
Lailas brother: Thats it. Enough. You dare yourself to touch a strangers skin? (yelling at
Laila and slaps her face)
Majnu: Sway away the hand. Allay your stand. Forget not, insolent not. You dared to touch
her? Shes the veins in my blood. Shes the alveoli to my lungs. Shes the epiglottis to my
throat. For her, I pray for natures own plea, the saviours decree. Shes a gift from god and a
balm for every pain. Her tears are precious and rare, Her smiles without compare to anyone,
Myself, Majnu now do dare, to say that Lailas mine.
Lailas brother: (yelling at Laila). Youre just a puppet to him. Ill dig his grave, I warn you
one last time
Laila: But therell be two corpses, youll get twice the crime. Do think about that,brother!
(Laila goes towards a corner and both men would initiate a battle soon)

Lailas brother: I swear Ill end this tale soon. Majnu, Ill tear you into a thousand bits.
(fight begins) (Lailas brother slashes Majnus arm and Laila would feel as well)

Majnu: (drops the sword down and holds Tabrezs hands). (Telling to Laila) Laila, please do
forgive me now. The thought of you turned me into a helpless knave. (takes out his little
sword and kills the brother)
