Example 7.1 Draw the receiving-end power circle diagram for the line with parameters A = D =
0.8951.4o, B = 182.578.6o, for receiving end voltageof 200 kV and sending-end voltages of 190
kV, 200 kV, 210 kV, 220 kV, 230 kV, and 240 kV.
1. Calculate the values of sending-end voltage, current, power, and power factor for a load of
125,000 kW and 1 power factor by drawing a sending-end circle on the same set of coordinates.

3. For various loads of 0 MW, 25 MW , 50 MW , 75 MW , 100 MW , 125 MW , 150 MW at


0.9 power factor lagging, find the reactive power supplied by the line and by synchronous
condensers in parallel with the loads if the sending-end voltage is maintained at 220 kV and
the receiving end voltage is at 200 kV. Determine the power factor at the receiving end of the
line.
