9.0 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Following are major performance parameters of various equipments that have to be demonstrated during
guarantee test:
Guaranteed Performance requirement shall be demonstrated at site to full satisfaction of the purchaser, after
successful trial run, which shall include at least one hour steady state operation per day on the average to be
conducted for 14 days.
a) Demonstration of Specified accuracy (Capacity & Head) for all Pumps & Compressors
b) Satisfactory operation of Dust Suppression system at Stockpiles with full coverage during stacking
/ reclaiming as well as during summer season (Sprinkler operation and availability of required pressure at inlet
to the farthest Sprinkler, during operation of other sprinklers as per approved scheme)
c) Satisfactory operation of Dry-Fog type Dust Suppression system at JNTs / CH with PG Test confirming
maximum dust concentration limitation of 2 mg/ NM3 over and above ambient dust level.
DUST SUPPRESSION & OTHER SYSTEMS
a) Presence of SPM at transfer locations before and after DS operation, as per agreed format / procedure.
b) Measurement of Pump head, capacity (each system)
c) Measurement of vibration at bearings of motor, pumps, compressors.
d) Measurement of Noise Level
Pumps:
(a) All materials should be of tested quality and test certificates to be provided.
(b) MPI of machined shaft and impeller shall be done.
(c) Shaft forgings to be also subjected to ultrasonic testing.
(d) Impellers to be dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 Gr.6.3.
(e) All pressure parts shall be hydraulically tested at 150% of the shut-off head or 200% of rated head,
whichever is higher for 30 minutes. No leakage is allowed.
(f) All pumps to be performance tested as per Hydraulic Institute Standard/Indian Standard.
Performance test to include check for noise, vibration level and temperature rise.
Valves and Specialties:
a) Valves and Specialities shall be tested as per relevant standards / codes including functional test.
b) Seat Leakage and hydraulic test to be carried out as per relevant standards / codes.

Pipes and Fittings:

Pipes and fittings shall be tested as per relevant standards /codes.
Noise Level:
Noise level produced by the equipment should not exceed 85 dBA at a distance of 1 m from it in any direction
under any load condition.
Vibration Level:
All the shafts of rotating equipment shall be properly aligned to those of the matching equipments so as to
achieve perfect accuracy as practicable. The equipment shall be free from excessive vibration so as to avoid
overheating of bearings or other conditions which may tend to shorten the life of the equipment. The vibration
level of rotating equipment measured at bearing housing shall be as per relevant part of ISO-10816. All
bearings, shafts & other rotating parts shall be thoroughly cleaned & suitably lubricated before starting & shall
be measured as per VDI 2056 / BS 4675.
Equipment Functional Guarantee:
Guaranteed Performance requirement shall be demonstrated to full satisfaction of the purchaser.
P.G. TEST PROCEDURE
The provisions of the clause entitled Inspection, Testing & Inspection Certificates as per approved QAP shall
also be applicable to the erection portion of the works. The Purchaser shall have the right to re-inspect any
equipment though previously inspected & approved by him at the bidders works, before & after the same are
erected at site. If by the above inspection, the purchaser rejects any equipment, the bidder shall make good for
such rejections either by replacement or modification/repairs as may be necessary to the satisfaction of the
Purchaser. Such replacements will also include the replacements or re-execution of such of those works of
other bidders &/or agencies, which might have got damaged or affected by the replacements or re-work done
to the bidders work.
