Day 1, April 25

It was 25th of april whn I stated working in Kerry Logistics as a student

trainee. Before I was introduced to our designated department, during that time we
were introduced to everyone inside the department were we met a lot of reliable
personnel in-charge on certain roles, from department head, production manager,
supervisors and more. With the help of the manager Engr. Mildred Macaraeg, we
were introduced to the workers that are responsible in the production of the firm. In
there, we found out the different areas inside the company as well as the team
leader in-charge for it. With the assistance of the present supervisor Mrs. Myra, we
were toured in the different areas where the groups/teams were assigned. Areas
such as assembly area, Inventory area and testing area are areas where a lot of
effort and man power were needed.
As for our first assignment, we were asked to familiarized our self in the rules
and regulation and facilities in the company.

Day 2, April 26
on our second day, we joined the daily meeting of the department. The
operation department conducts 30 minutes meeting with the workers to give the
daily objectives and set the moods of the workers. After that, we went back to the
previous areas that we visited. For our daily task, we were asked by our supervisor
to familiarize our self in the process of each areas.
Most of our time were spent in the field familiarizing and socializing with the
workers and for our first target, the unloading/loading. This area is responsible for
receiving and dispatching of items in or out the company as per requested by the
client.
As we asked series of questions and curiosity to the team leader, the day is
almost over.
Day 3, april 27
Third day, as we resumed to our previous tasked, our knowledge about the
company kept on increasing. After we went to loading/unloading area, we proceed
to inventory area as our next destination.
In this area, we found out how the raw materials were being allocated. After
the warehouseman validate the items entering the warehouse. It will be placed in
the inventory area. In here, the warehouse man will update its record book as well
as its bulletin board for the said items. the items are divided into different sections
according to its kind and will be distributed to the assembly area according to its
need.
Before the day end, we went back to the operation department as we report
our progress on the task.
Day 4, april 28

Fourth day of the training. After the daily meeting, we immediately resume to
our given task which is familiarizing our self in the different areas in the company.
As we continue, we realized that doing this is not as easy as we thought since we
have to be in good terms with the personnel who manage it which we consider one
of the hardest on the task. For todays target, we decide to visit the assembly area
as our third. In here, the unit that the workers are assembling is the antenna. This
antenna were commonly used by the telecoms and internet provider. In this area,
two teams were presented. Each team were composed of five workers which can
assemble a total of 2 as each teams daily quota.
Assembling antennas is not as easy as replacing old batteries on remotes. It
requires a lot of trainings and effort to assemble. One antenna requires 4 hours as
the companys standard due to having a complex process.
Observing the scene in front of us greatly ate our time as we realized that a
single day is not enough to observe the whole process thus we decide to continue
observing on the next morning.

Day 5, april 29
Fifth day, Right after the daily meeting everyone immediately went back to
their job and as for us, we head straight to the assembly area. As we continue our
job, we kept on learning new things about the unit. We found out that the materials
being attached to the unit were all heavy. One were requires to carry at least 25 kg
of raw material and hold it as they attach screws and bolts to connect it to the unit.
One after another, every raw materials connected in to the unit, the quality
assurance will automatically follow to ensure that everything is made right and if
there is something that the previous worker missed it can be easily followed up.
That time, we realized the importance of the teamwork as they help one another
and cover their flaws.
We end the day with a satisfied feeling as we learned a lot of things about
assembling the unit and the people working on it. Before we leave the company, we
reported back to our supervisor our progress and our objective on the next morning.
Day 6, april 30
The sixth day. Our tasked on familiarizing or self in the diferent areas in the
company is almost done. For our fourth trip, we went to the next assembly area
which is the Delta area. In this area the units that being produce can be consider as
the brain of the production. If I were to describe the unit, its like a big cabinet full of
complicated wirings inside.
