TV Stars Conclude Trip in Holy Land with Message to fellow Christians

Stars of hit TV shows The Walking Dead, Dexter, Lost, and Hawaii Five-0 come to Israel on
trip organized by Americas Voices for Israel
On a group trip to Israel of Hollywood Celebrities, bestselling author, producer, and
preacher, DeVon Franklin was unexpectedly honored to officiate a baptism in the Jordan
River, the same place where John the Baptist is said to have baptized
Jesus. Franklin explained on Instagram that there was no minister on duty as they expected,
so he stepped in to conduct the ceremony. "I wasn't anticipating that God had me in mind to
be the minister on duty...I baptized 3 beautiful souls in the Jordan River! And the peace that
fell on all of us was amazing!"
The 6-day trip in Israel, coordinated by Americas Voices in Israel and Israels Ministry for
Strategic Affairs, featured Franklins wife, TV star Meagan Good, along with Sonequa
Martin-Green and husband Kenric Green of the hit AMC series The Walking Dead. In
addition, Daniel Dae Kim, formerly of ABCs Lost and current star of CBSs Hawaii Five-0,
and Mark Pellegrino, best known for his work in Supernatural, Dexter, Lost, and Being
Human, were joined by their wives on this trip of a lifetime. The group visited cultural,
religious, and historical sites, met locals, and experienced life in Israel, which they
shared with a combined 50 million followers on social media.
On the final day of the trip, Franklin implored all Christians around the world to come and
experience Israel. I think every Christian around the world needs to visit the birthplace of
Christianity. When you [experience] the faith on a practical level - instead of just intellectually
from the Bible, you get it in a way that you never would have otherwise.
The group visited other sacred sites such as Nazareth, the cradle of Christianity, the Sea of
Galilee, where Jesus is said to have walked on water, Capernaum, the center of Jesus
Galilee life, the Via Dolorosa, the route that Jesus took to his crucifixion, and more.
At the Western Wall, Daniel Dae Kim shared a photo as he placed a note in the holy
site. Overlooking the Temple Mount, Kenric and Sonequa Green were moved by the sacred
ground they were standing on.
There were also visits to cultural centers such as Nahalat Binyamin in Tel Aviv, Old Jaffa and
Jerusalem, where the group experienced life in Israel, chatted with locals, enjoyed camel
rides, and dined at the finest eateries Israel has to offer. Of course, no trip to Israel is
complete without a visit to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, where over New Years,
the group enjoyed soaking and floating in the salty water, as well as a therapeutic mud bath.
They engaged with influential Israelis, such as leaders of the The African Hebrew Israelite
Nation, and Sivan Yaari, CEO of Innovation: Africa, a non-profit organization that brings
advanced Israeli technologies to the most remote areas in Africa, as well as visited hubs of
coexistence in Israel, not promoted in the mainstream media, such as The Rambam Hospital
in Haifa.
Internal Security and Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud), who arranged the trip,
said the Hollywood stars "are a bridge between Israel and the rest of the world,"
strengthening ties between the US and the Jewish state, bolstering the struggle against the
BDS movement.
